Wondering if this place has changed hands in recent times? Been here a few times over the years when visiting Buxton and has always been fantastic, however visiting on Saturday, unfortunately, for all of us in our party of 6 the food was dire. The service is still brilliant (although appears to be all new staff). The atmosphere, perhaps may be due to the cold weather, but did not have that Saturday night 'thriving ' feel there has been in the past/you usually get in Italian restaurants on a busy weekend night. Had an amazing meal here last night. The food was all excellent. No complaints whatsoever. I had the toasted ciabatta and dips to start. Some places would serve a couple of pieces of bread, but this came with eight pieces. It sounds a lot but the portions were just right. My beef medallion main had three very decent sized medallions with not one ounce of fat anywhere. All food tasted incredible. Very flavoursome. Service was prompt, polite, efficient and friendly. Very clean place. Couldn't fault it. Highly recommended. We will definitely be returning.
Super good in nice relaxed surroundings, nice for a quiet meal or maybe romantic. Booking is probably essential for Friday or Saturday. Close to a few very good bars for drinks after!
