Just found this place today when looking for somewhere a friend and I could meet up for coffee and lunch and I wish I had found this place sooner!! Amazing! Only a small venue but clearly popular and deserving of its popularity. We arrived and chose a table upstairs. You have to order downstairs at the main till .but everything is brought to your table once ordered. The food is brilliant. We both ordered the smashed sweet potato with pesto, feta cheese and poached egg on toast, very reasonably priced too. Love independent eateries ...this is unique as its an old station house with lovely outdoor seating too.. Ordered full English..lovely produce...cooked to perfection...only small gripe is I'm diabetic so need to eat wholemeal bread but they don't stock brown/wholemeal bread only sourdough..my hubby had...the sourdough toast and it was rock hard...too hard to eat...only other gripe is sugar cubes..noticed few people were putting their hands in the small pot to get them out...not ideal in these covid times.... Took some home made cakes and sausage rolls home and they was beautiful.. Would definitely come again..just would like the addition of wholemeal bread/toast......
This beautiful independent and family owned coffee house/restaurant is certainly a hidden jewel in the crown of Merseyside. We have been here many times for breakfast/brunch/lunch and now for the taster evenings and on every visit, without exception, the food has been wonderful. Unfortunately we had to leave before we even managed to order. We was seated upstairs and my wife moved her chair out to go the toilet to wash her hands (wooded chair on old wooden floors boards). Then we heared shouted by the owner, why...are they f**king moving upstair Not going to lie we were both in alot of disbelief. When the waitress came up to take our order, my wife asked did we just hear what we thought we heared, to the answer of yes you made a racket We left at this point and spoke to owner on the way out who had no response. Unfortunate especially when you are trying to support a local business.

We are regular customers to this amazing local independent business and they always deliver an exceptional experience. Nothing is too much trouble, the whole staff team work really hard day in day out to deliver outstanding food and service. Brunch at the weekend, themed taster...night, private catering, cake and a coffee We've had them all and it's always fantastic. Love supporting Carl, Nicky and the team as much as we can it's always a pleasure to be there!
Planned on booking for hubbys birthday breakfast but covid had other ideas, booked an app online, was msgd back quickly and order taken, was advised mins and was ready on time,food was well packaged, absolutely gorgeous and genorous portions, well worth the recommend and will use again. thanks guys
What a fantastic place..The building dates back to mid century and the atmosphere is still there..,The owners of the cafe have done a absolutely fantastic job with the food and atmosphere..All is homemade,fresh and excellently cooked..A really superb place for a good meal...
Very lucky to live locally to this little gem. The food is always lovely and the coffee is great. Highly recommend the Station Breakfast (veggie option is great too)! Staff always pleasant. Hope this place sticks around forever!

We didn't know the area at all but took google rating at face value. Turns out it was as good as suggested. Great breakfast with good service. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for quality food.
