Recently, I had some guests over, so instead of opting for the Ultimate Sampler ($40), we decided to go for the larger Meat Sweat option ($160). I was surprised to find that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the already high-priced entree, which is three times more expensive, leading us to expect at least three times the portion size. The brisket here is probably the best I've encountered in Michigan, and I've sampled quite a few places. The smoked sausage has fantastic flavor, although it can be a bit salty if you're watching your sodium intake. I tried three out of the four sauces, and all were enjoyable, though none had much heat. I skipped the white sauce since I'm not a fan of Alabama sauce, but they do offer it if that's your preference. The coleslaw leans more towards a vinegar-based dressing than creamy, which suited my taste perfectly. Burnt Ends were really dry (sauce was good though . My wife's meatloaf had a very bland flavor so she didn't take more than 2 bites. Daughter liked her kids cheese burger. I got a long piece of plastic in my cuban sandwich that I almost swallowed so that was fun. Waitstaff wasn't on their game at all, forgot multiple items (utensils, got the chili order wrong, never brought us the cornbread that came with our meals... yeah, not impressed. But the atmosphere was very cool and the waitress was incredibly nice. Won't be back cuz I can't justify paying those kinda prices for the experience we had along with the mediocre flavor.
The service was generally good, although the food quality was inconsistent. While the portions were generous, the overall quality was average. The mac and cheese (specifically the side) was more of a light, watery cheese sauce than anything substantial. The chili was quite salty, and the smoked meats were served cold. On the bright side, the fries and sauces were delicious. Unfortunately, the bread for our sandwiches was either soggy or stale and hard. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 5.

The Smokin J sandwich exceeded my expectations by a long shot. It was absolutely delicious! The service was excellent, the food was served quickly, and there was a fantastic variety of drinks to choose from. I will definitely be returning! Food: 5/5
The service was AMAZING. The staff was so nice and the food was to die for! I tried the prime rib and a few sides. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and the sides were an added bonus.
