A hidden gem. Service, ambience, and food were all great. Complimentary green tea is awesome. Waitress was super nice, refilled tea often and was able to split our shared items on our checks. It took a little bit of time for food to get to our table, but the wait is absolutely worth it and you can taste the authenticity and care in the food. Got the Shrimp Hokkaido Miso Ramen. It had a really rich and not too salty Miso broth, and tender egg noodles. Been a regular here since their early years. Everything is always so fresh and delish at this Japanese restaurant. Sushi Hana does not cut corners yet their prices, to me, resemble that of a good value especially in Montclair for its location and quality! They have parking in the rear by the bank when it’s closed but you have to pay on weekends. There is a municipal parking ramp across the street. When I crave sushi, Sushi Hana for the win! While it’s a small detail, there was an unpleasant smell as we walked into the restaurant, which was a bit off-putting. I understand that smells can be hard to manage in certain layouts—like how you always smell bread at Subway. Once the food arrived, it was delicious, but the wait time for our order felt longer than expected. Additionally, I was somewhat disappointed with the portion sizes, especially for specialty rolls that are priced higher. There are so many fantastic dining options in town that I hope to see improvements if you want to entice me to return.
I wish I could give this place zero stars. This was easily the worst sushi I've ever eaten, and I can usually tolerate even day-old grocery store sushi. The salmon looked grey, and the tuna was the most disappointing pale pink I've ever encountered. The tempura was just a soggy, over-fried disaster. I really don't know who is rating this restaurant highly, but do yourself a favor and avoid it. I've never thrown away a meal in my life, but I ended up tossing almost everything into the trash.

I will never return to this restaurant. I do not recommend dining here. The cleanliness of the establishment is appalling; it hasn’t been properly cleaned in ages. The portions are also unacceptably small. The special house roll, priced at $19, was disappointingly tiny.
It took us thirty minutes to order takeout on their janky web site. Ten minutes later we got a message they’re too busy to fill our order. I guess they have more than enough business without ours. Maybe they should consider not offering takeout on Saturday nights.
Excellent food and service!! Eating at Sushi Hana will leave you wanting to come back the very next day. Come hungry because they have a huge selection of delicious handmade rolls, noodles, and bento boxes. Definitely worth a try when you are around the area!
The sushi here is delicious and exceptional. It has a wonderful blend of flavors, combining both delicate and traditional tastes. The ambiance is fantastic, and the prices are reasonable.
