I expected a runway from the mill of Omakase experience, but boy I had proved wrong! From the beginning to the end it was an absolute joy. At first, the ambience and the furnishings gave off a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. And the service was impeccably our server, was knowledgeable and attentive, without being intrusive. We finally found our go to neighborhood sushi spot! So many times my husband and I would try to find a simple, good, sushi place without any bells and whistles to no avail--until today! We love places like this where their food really shines as opposed to a well designed interior with blah food.We ordered the beef udon, beef bowl, and nigiri and everything was so good. Udon broth was deep and flavorful, we had to control ourselves from eating it all (was for our two toddlers). The nigiri was super clean, fresh, and well proportioned. I probably shouldn't have gone in when they were over, but I didn't know they were over. I just ordered crispy rice with spicy tuna without avocado, with an icy green tea. When did the guy not know what I was talking about? Until someone else started and had to help. as I waited, I asked for fresh Wasabi they calculated me $6 when I came home NOT FRESH WASABI!! NEW WAS MY GREEN TEA that they said was green tea if it should be ice cold!! You helped me. I know I ordered a ground meal with a little taste, but the meal she gave me was like a little child's meal from McDonald's. No taste. Will never be back.
This restaurant has kind of grown on me.No frills, local Japanese restaurant that has pretty good quality sushi. Rice is seasoned well, fish isn't stringy at all, and the karaage comes in huge, steaming pieces! Chiraishi is usually my go-to and even the lunch size portion is still pretty filling. Straightforward. Easy. Just don't come here with a large party because the restaurant itself is pretty small (recommend four people max)
The ambiance in the place is off. Everything felt cheap.With that being said, the food is exceptionally good. The quality of the fish is on point. Blue fin, all tuna, scallop, tallow tail, albacore, amaebe was very good. Uni was on the light side but i understand times are tough.
The first time here. Had lunch special chicken Teriyaki Bento plate. The ticket time from the order to serve was 24 min. Food was really good for the price. Just 12.95. It'll be back.
The owners have a background in importing sushi fish and distribution so that you are always super high quality here. Quality quality quality quality for a regular price!
