I’m staying at the campground behind Sylvia’s cafe and I can’t think of one negative thing to say! The campgrounds are quiet and have reasonable privacy given the fact that there’s little brush on the ground around here. The washroom and laundry facilities are always clean, heated, and smell nicer than any campground bathrooms I’ve been in. For how well maintained the place is, the cost is more than reasonable. The one thing I will mention is that the wifi isn’t the best. There’s a large group of tree planters currently staying on a different part of the property who share the same network. Over the 3 years we have been in Quesnel and hearing how good the food was, we finally got to Sylvia's ourselves.The food was not just good, it was great. Everyone had told us to try the perogies, and they were right. The best perogies we both have ever had, and this includes restaurants in Castlegar and Grand Forks. The cabbage rolls were great and the rhubarb pie just like your grandmother would make (if your grandmother could really, really bake)***this is a simple country restaurant, if a large group is there ahead of you, you may have to wait. I stayed so far three months at Sylvia's, in their camp ground. I must say that there is no competition and the owners take it for granted. My laundry was torn, I was told to go to town if I don't like it, laundry machine locked up my 4 one dollar coins, I was told there were only 3, and I. Do not get it back! I was served cabbage rolls and sausage (Ukrainian dish) with nicely fried curly red hair! I was told it was my own hair!!! On the positive they are many times open during early morning hours, and serve the coffee and meals, there is also little store with necessary household supplies.
Have been coming up here for over 20 years and eating at Sylvia’s Restaurant for the last 4-5 and love the breakfasts and the dinners are fantastic. My hubby loves the carrot cake and all the home baked goodies. Will keep going there until we can’t get there. Also the waitresses and cooks are so nice and polite and friendly just what you want to see when you come up here.So quiet and beautiful up here love visiting our friends every year . Had the pleasure of being served an excellent lunch, home made and cooked to perfection, fresh salad, very good bread (toasted) turkey soup to brag about, hamburger maison, home made fries, all in all an excellent meal. The service was superior, very friendly waitress and the price was super reasonable. Thank you for an memorable lunch, definitely coming back soon.
The menu is unique and the food is always good. I would suggest avoiding the burgers as they are merely average, but the other items like the perogies and desserts are great. Makes a great Sunday drive and dine!
Restaurant, gas station and convenience store out towards Nazko. Lots offered, especially so far out of town. Prices are high but expected, staff are friendly and place is clean with plenty of selection.
