Visiting Ta Chen was one of the most authentic and welcoming dining experiences I've ever had. I went there on Christmas Eve, and when I arrived, my food wasn't quite ready yet. The owner, David, kindly offered me some soup, water, and a cookie while I waited. He shared stories about his 37 years in business and expressed his love for Garden Grove. It was clear that both the customers before and after me had a personal connection with him. And let me tell you, the food was fantastic! What a gem of a place!
That was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Even though the dining area was closed, they welcomed us in anyway. The food was the most authentic Chinese cuisine I’ve ever tasted. The service was unparalleled, and by the end of our meal, we felt like family. They even provided us with extra food and gave us water bottles for our walk, as we were planning a lovely stroll. The owners truly care about their customers' experience. I will definitely be returning!
The food is delicious and a special treat is the hot and sour soup. This restaurant is visited by locals and they do a very large take out repeat business in the area. Over the years many different Chinese restaurants have come and gone in West Garden Grove, but only Ta Chen remains because of the incredible loyal support of the local community (which is a testament to the great food, fair prices and exceptional courtesy and outgoing friendliness of the owner
This restaurant offers delicious food at reasonable prices, along with friendly service. We ordered the Szechwan dinner, which included hot and sour soup, an egg roll, fried shrimp, wrapped chicken, and rice. Following a friend's recommendation, we also tried the orange chicken and moo shu pork. I especially liked the addition of scrambled eggs in the rice. Good prices, good service, excellent food. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They want you to be satisfied. We had the tango chicken and sweet/sour chicken lunch combos. We were very happy with them. You were so good!
Highly recommend, support small businesses! The customer service is amazing! Owners are so kind and go above and beyond, they noticed we were here from out of town and gave us extra food. Food is delicious and great price!
