As one of the most praised restaurants in North End, Table offers a high bar for contemporary Italian cuisine. Given the fact that they calculate a stamp of a tasting menu for seemingly simple Italian dishes, I hoped to discover more about my recent visit. However, the overall eating experience was not worth the hype. We were initially fascinated by their emphasis on municipal atmosphere. Sitting around a big table was an interesting concept, but it seemed a bit exaggerated as we rarely had chances to interact with other diners or our servers. Sit on the table! Honestly, this is the first multi-course menu where I left completely filled. They don't skip at all on the portion size and I had a fully blown lining baby belly when I left. We came here on a Friday because we moved out of the area and wanted a real Italian north-end experience. 5 stars for the friendly servers. They took care of us all night. 5 stars for the octopus appetizer. It was perfect. Crispy on the outside without being rubbery. I never had better!! (Only people just roast it, but that was grilled). 5 stars for meatballs!!! So tasteful. I think they have the pasta court behind them. 4 stars for the other dishes and dessert. There was nothing wrong with them, but...
We really enjoy this kind of dining option. A Prix Fixe menu takes a lot of guests work from the selection of the best means. Instead, the restaurant is able to rely on meals presentation, ingredients, and the table really supplies. Each course has unique notes, but shows the talent for the cook and the kitchen. The only reason I drew a star was that some perceived between the kitchen and the service staff that was distracted by the meal and the fact that it took 30 minutes to sit from our reservation.
I recently borrowed Table Boston for a corporate event for customers from all over the country. I have such amazing feedback from this North End experience that we have made available to our invitations. The atmosphere, the food, the staff... everything impeccable. Jen has created a room that is so warm and welcoming that you literally feel like you with the family. Will be back again and again! In the meantime, the bread, the meatball, the desert will dream....etc! Thanks table Boston!
