As we find ourselves in 2022, there seems to be a lack of responsibility among some individuals in the restaurant industry. Customer service should emphasize genuine courtesy and professionalism, rather than crossing the line into overly personal or familiar interactions. It's important to remember that if a customer chooses not to visit, it could put your job at risk—something worth thinking about! Fortunately, this Taco Bell almost flawlessly addresses these issues!
I waited in line for 10 minutes to place my order, but the line wasn’t moving, so I decided to use the kiosk instead. It took another 15 minutes to get my food, and by the time it arrived, I had completely lost my appetite. The service was awful; the staff moved extremely slowly and appeared to ignore customers to avoid helping them. They really need to hire more employees!
Ordering at the kiosk inside the store is quite slow. The drive-thru customers and those who order at the counter are prioritized. I often have to ask for my soda cup, and the same happened with the person who received their order before me. On a positive note, the food is usually well-prepared, and the location is convenient.
First and foremost, this review is about Taco Bell locations specifically, not a comparison with other Mexican restaurants. This location is clean, recently updated, and features an efficient drive-thru. Interestingly, although San Mateo has three Taco Bell locations, none of them have a drive-thru. I visited the Taco Bell in Foster City last week. While I'm not usually a big fan of tacos, I do enjoy them from time to time. My order took quite a while to arrive, but the staff were attentive and did their best to assist customers. Overall, I think they handled things fairly well.
I ordered through the drive-thru and it took quite a while to receive my food. They did offer me several free taco coupons, which was a very kind gesture.
The employees were extremely friendly, and the drive-thru service was fast. I also liked that the tacos were not smashed, which was a nice detail.
