Tonight, my husband and I reviewed the new Indian Fusion Restaurant, Taj Fusion, On Wantagh Ave and omg, I can't say enough great things about it! Tonight was a “Soft Opening” so it’s not really open, just on a test, it was super low key and the staff was very attentive. They open officially next Saturday. Our waiter, AJ, really recommended amazing things from the menu. We started with an Indian beer we enjoyed very much. My husband and I asked him to get all our dishes for us and each one was amazing! We had the naan (cheese, plain and garlic... all were amazing! AJ recommended a trio of dipping sauces to go with what was also amazing. We also had an appetizer of Samosas.delicious and taste...
I am somewhat skeptical of Indian cuisine used because of spices, but this place is an exception. This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been. The owner took what was once a downturned, unattractive Hibachi-Spot and turned it into a beautiful playback of Indian culture and kitchen. The look and feel is beautiful, I felt like I was somewhere in NYC, not a small place in Wantagh. There was an easy wait, but we were invited to sit at the bar for a free appetizer, which was a good start. Our waiter was funny and very respectful. That was a fabulous experience. Beautiful decor, immaculately clean, attentive pleasant staff. The food was elegantly prepared and presented. The waiter recommended 2 appetizers a grilled shrimp dish perfectly seasoned with huge juicy shrimps and a grilled chicken dish marinade in a delicious yogurt marinade. Lamb chops perfectly grilled and as desired seasoned perfectly spicy served over rice. Even desert was amazing! Thanks AJ for the recommendations and an attentive waiter.
We came to Taj for the 1st time tonight. We started off with the Shrimp Tandoori for an appetizer. They were cooked perfectly! I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and the hubby had Lamb Rohan Jos. It was delicious. Of course the Naan bread to go with it, suggested by our waiter AJ who did a great job explaining and suggesting what to try. We had only tried Indian food once before and I’m so glad we went and that it’s right in our town. Definitely would recommend.
My son and I went for dinner last night and had a great experience. I was new to Indian cuisine but my son has been a fan for awhile. It's beautifully decorated with a friendly vibe. The staff was very receptive to questions. The food did not disappoint. We both thought it was delicious. We will be back!
Tonight we checked out the soft open dining for this new Indian Restaurant in town and it was amazing! Delicious food, service was wonderful. We will definitely be back. Their grand opening is this Saturday December 9th for dinner time, I highly recommend you try it.
All was amazing! One very minor comment I would make is that the vegetables for the appetizers cucumber, tomato, greens and carrots could have been fresher...they lacked moisture. Could have been crispier and thicker. Other than that, the meal was excellent!!!
A must try! The fresh coconut stands out in the coconut shrimp curry! Sauce goes great with naan! Cauliflower — phenomenal. Service was excellent. I am sure i will go back!
Excellent service from Tito and delicious food! Flavours and spices were wonderful. The interior is beautiful and modern. We recommend it!
