1. Cutlery, plates and tablecloth were dirty. The beer glass had pieces of carrot stuck to it.2. The food took over 45 minutes to arrive at our table. There were only 6 people in the restaurant and only 2 of us (we were the first to order).3. The food was bland, sugary and devoid of any spices. The so-called saffron rice was white, bar about 20 individual grains that were yellow but still bland. My stomach does not feel too good right now (we were there an hour ago).4. The couple next to us ordered a bottle of wine and it came out already open. When the waitress was asked how long it had been opened she said she didn't know.5. The path to the toilet was cluttered with their recycling and bin...
Tucked just off cosmopolitan King William Road this is a great little spot. It is quite a new restaurant to the area and well worth a visit. The staff were very friendly and the tasty food, authentic. If you're into Lactose and Gluten Free or, Chilli Hot - the Indicators are listed on the menu. There is also a smattering of vegetarian dishes.The restaurant is a few steps around the corner of Bloomsbury Street and is easy to miss if you're strolling King William Road looking for a great place to eat.The night I went it was quiet with only a few customers - I hope it's a success. Prices are very reasonable, BYO take away and delivery ($7) is available.
For my first take away at this restaurant I ordered sticky unctuous, aromatic (medium hot) lamb shanks (received 2 shanks for a serve), mango tandoori chicken (plenty of chicken pieces that were tender and moist in a light and bright cream with a fruit "splash"), and veggie jalfrezi (real deal for those of us not wanting potato - every colour and texture of the foodie rainbow with mild heat) with some perfect, thick raita to cool the mouth (excellent). It was simply the best Indian food i have eaten, delivered early, hot, fresh to my door, with a smile :)I can't wait to return to Tandoori Castle
First time we have eaten from this restaurant. Food was really tasty-no complaints, BUT after being told by staff our order would be less than 1 hour delivered (despite us suggesting we collect) it took over 1.5 hours to arrive. Delivery guy was apologetic and did his best to smooth things over.90 + minutes just isn't good enough sorry. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Had lamb madras, lamb rogan josh, rice and keema naan. Really good food, no one else here though. It's round a corner so not obvious from the main street. Waitress lovely, chairs really comfy, but the only atmosphere comes from the tea lights on the lonely tables! No decor or music.Still, it gets full marks as the food was perfect.
After waiting an hour for entree we asked where it was and told them we were in a hurry. Finally got our meal but some how got mains before entree. When entree came out it was cold and tasteless. Main was nice but not worth increasing the rating. Would not go back.
Top notch curries, no potato fillers which I loathe Excellent service, a few minutes longer than anticipated but that caused us no undue stress I will be getting take out from here again I had chilli Chicken, bhuna gosht, beef vindaloo and vegetable biryani YUM
Excellent quality Indian at a really good price. We ordered take away. The papadams were the best we have tried and the zerra rice superb. We followed this up with two beautiful main courses. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
I can't believe that this place isn't heaving. Excellent Indian food at unbelievably low prices and with friendly service. We won't go anywhere else for Indian in Hyde Park.
