how I miss eating the lush lunch in tanjore! Tanjore often visited when I studied in edinburgh. eating was just as my mom cooked lonely, rude and sweet! one of my favorite places in edinburgh when I was sick at home and my favorite South Indian cuisine was missing! if ur in edinburgh and want yummy south indian food then it is tanjore!
Unfortunately, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table despite having a reservation for 8pm. We were finally seated at 8.30. The food was fantastic, but the portions were a bit small. The dishes were very flavorful though. It would have been a nice touch to receive a small complimentary appetizer like popadoms and a pickle tray.

The South Indian food at this restaurant is delicious and authentic. While the starter portions were a bit small, they were still very tasty. The curries, especially the Malabar curry, were excellent. Although it may not be the most affordable option, the quality of the curries more than makes up for it.
This is a small restaurant but the curry is truly delicious and homemade. This is not a fancy restaurant and there was no alcohol served, but if you are looking for a delicious authentic Indian meal close to the University of Edinburgh campus, then this is the ticket.
Amazing authentic cuisine with vegetarian options marked “V” but the waiter was very helpful and said they could be any vegan and double checked my order with the chef. Don't let the underwhelming exterior undress you!
They don't have a separate menu but the waiter was able to tell me what was vegan and what could be adjusted to be vegan. Loved the variety!

It was delicious. Small selection of vegan suitable meals. V states vegetarian meals, but many dishes can be made vegan on request.
