I very rarely give anywhere a poor rating. I used to enjoy a few trips to TAPshack each summer but something has changed. They now exclusively serve you by getting you to scan a QR code that is attached to the tables. They ask you to give your tip before you see your food or waiter, and have the standard 18/20/22 suggestions. I'm usually a very generous tipper, fill my tummy and refill my water a few times and you're looking at 30% so i can make up for being a solo diner, but how unbalanced does it become if waiters receive their tip before food even arrives? Both trips this summer I only saw my waiter when they dropped off food, is that worth 20% of an already pricey meal? there are no drin...
The food presentation was nice, but unfortunately, the food was served cold. As the evening progressed, it became darker and colder outside on the patio near the water, where there were no heating lamps or they had not been turned on. Despite these issues, I still give this restaurant 3 stars. Our second waitress made a genuine effort to make up for the mix-up and was apologetic. The ambiance was pleasant, making it a good choice for a cozy gathering or a date night.
The location of this restaurant is fantastic, with the soothing sounds of a water feature just off the seawall. The food, being a tap shack, is decent, and they offer a good selection of beers on tap, not just the usual Stanley Park or Granville options. Overall, it's a great spot for what it is. However, the digital ordering system needs some serious improvement - our order was incorrect twice. Sorry, tap shack!
Cool place, the outdoor patio has a killer view. We sat inside and I like the decor inside as well. The service is very good, polite and friendly. Not a vegetarian friendly menu. The only sandwich that is vegetarian was mediocre. I would not recommend for food (if vegetarian) but a good place to grab a beer and views
Came here on a rainy day during happy hour and was delighted to know that we could sit under a heated outdoor canopy with an amazing view. We had the hummus and flatbread and it was amazing! Drinks were also quite good. Will definitely be back again!
Stunning views of the coal port! The menu didn't have many options, but the food was good. Love beer selection and fresh tuna. You have a happy hour between 4-6, then 9 a.m. to close. It is worth a visit!
Excellent service and beautiful food the terrace it so beautiful with view to the North Vancouver and with a well next. I hope they can add the pulp soon, just because I like it.
The service was excellent! They had all the TVs showing UEFA2020 for us to watch. We loved the tuna pot shell dish. It was fantastic!
