My first visit to any of the Tapas Brindisa chain and I was mildly disappointed with the food value in comparison with other tapas groups in London. This was a family birthday celebration lunch so the alcohol intake was limited to a few Estrella Galicia draughts but the overall cost for 3 with 13.5% gratuity added was a whopping £199.76. Some plates were particularly expensive such as the Jamon Iberico de Bellota at £24 for a few thin slices and the 250g Txuleta Rubia Galicia bone-in beef at £30.00. Not sure what has happened here but my favourite Tapas restaurant has gone severely down hill. We ordered a few items and the waiter tried to take all the menu's, even when challenged he only wanted to leave one and I had to axtually insist he leave two, one each for my wife and me. Attentiveness was bearable with staff chatting and people watching at times. Thankfully the kitchen was generally still on top but, one of my favourite luxuries, Pata negra was beyond awful. The first plate had been cut so long ago it was all curled up and had to be returned. The replacememt plate appeared freshly cut but was such a bright red colour and poor flavour I doubt the pig had ever seen an acorn let alo...
I was there with a friend after visiting Tate exhibitions. We were served by a lovely young woman Ruth who was very patient with my friend who was a bit indecive re. her order. And although I did enjoy the food, the setting outdoors was too noisy for me to conduct a conversation (traffic noisewas rather overpowering) 1 remark: to add discretionary service 13.5% automatically and not leave it to the customer 's discretion I cannot condone. I would 've gladly tipped the lovely Ruth but not when the restaurant takes the initiative to add it themselves. Rude habit!
Food good, albeit fairly pricey for what it was! But biggest gripe was how rushed the experience was! Finished our food and decided to buy another drink, £30 for the two! About two sips into our drink we were told ‘we need the table’ and to ‘drink up’! The funny thing is we had been there less than one hour and arrived after the table next to us, but they weren’t getting the same pressure! Wandering around borough Market and wanted to try something new for lunch and this was the place! Super friendly service From arrival and the food was incredible! The potato's with eggs and sausage (sorry cannot recall the dish name) was incredible so flavourful and the prawns were incredible! Looking forward to my next visit! Cristina looked after me and she was so friendly even while having a lot of tables!
A bit crowded but such good simple tapas. Our server Ruth was really nice and made sure we have plenty of space on our small table. Would definitely recommend. Will be back.
