We stopped by on a Monday after the lunch hour. Both my friend and I ordered the turkey sandwich with havarti and rhubarb chutney on a bun from the local bakery. Also had a cup of turkey, wild rice soup. Both were excellent! Upon talking to the owner, she told me that the turkey is local and only on the menu when available. I told her that I could eat a bowl of her home made rhubarb chutney with a side of ice cream. Delicious! The soup was yummy with lots of turkey and vegetables. Very nicely spiced. We will return!
My sisters and I found this incredible hidden gem of a restaurant a few years ago, and it never disappoints! We drive an hour from Nanaimo just to have lunch here occasionally, and it's never enough. Thank you Tarbells for the amazing atmosphere and delicious combination of homestyle and gourmet food. We absolutely adore this place!
I discovered this restaurant by chance while on a road trip and now every time we visit the island, we always make a point to stop by. The entire menu is delightful (especially the breakfast sandwich), the coffee is always fresh, and the baked goods are a delightful treat! I would highly recommend this place to anyone I know.
Amazing! This restaurant serves expertly crafted coffee and delicious food. We initially stopped by to ask a question, but were so impressed that we ended up returning three days in a row. Tarbell's is a Cumberland Classic. A cozy place where you go to meet your friends, warm up and enjoy the food and atmosphere. The home baked goodies are delicious. Good music selection and artists regularly display their work on the walls. I go there a couple of times a week.
Every time I'm in Cumberland I normally grab my coffee from this great cafe (had a blueberry muffin that was pretty amazing too), the service is great (it's alway the same friendly woman), Great big window in the cafe for great people watching too. Overall great spot!
So much history when you walk in the door. The building has its own warmth filed with paintings from local artists. The soups are made on site and sandwiches fresh. The owner was dedicated and accommodating to our friend who has a gluten intolerance. Thank you again.
My absolute favourite place to go in Cumberland. Very friendly owners, very yummy sandwiches, good music and nice strong coffee. Their homemade biscuits are delicious too. The perfect place to spend an afternoon sipping coffee and reading a book. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
