The boat noodles were absolutely delightful! In contrast, the beef Nam Tắc was somewhat lacking in flavor and reminded me of Hmong Laab; it definitely needed a bit more seasoning. The egg rolls were slightly overcooked, yet they still had a nice taste. The cream cheese puffs were excellent, although I felt they were a bit overpriced given their small size, and the overall bill seemed a bit high for the portions we received.
Regarding the dining area, it could benefit from a bit more cleanliness; I hope the owner addresses this to improve the experience in the future. Overall, the boat noodles were the best I've ever tasted, and I would certainly return the next time I'm in town.
The food was delicious! I had lunch here with my mom and brother. Before we could even take pictures, the dishes were already half eaten! The papaya salad was a 4/5—though I asked for medium spice, it was a bit spicier than expected. The shrimp Tom Yum scored 4/5, the spicy beef nam tok was excellent at 5/5, and my favorite was the shrimp glass noodles, also a perfect 5/5. I’ll definitely be returning when I’m in the area.
Friends Cafe has changed a lot from what it once was. Customer treatment feels unfair—if you share the same race as the staff, the service isn’t up to standard. On the other hand, customers of different races receive noticeably better treatment. Also, the automatic gratuity added after checkout is excessively high; tipping should be a personal choice. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant.
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The service was very friendly, and my family of 13 really enjoyed our meals. I highly recommend trying the boat noodles, pineapple fried rice, and pad Thai—they were all delicious! The restaurant also boasts beautiful artwork and decor. I definitely plan to visit again soon.
