I was initally very wary despite the good reviews, as I usually am when I try a new restaurant. We had 11 people in our party and that made me nervous too, as it's hard to please everyone. Excellent Service from Rose. Overall experience is average due to highly overpriced menu considering taste ( normal average ) and presentation ( poor presentation ). The interior design is old, original and well maintained ( very neat ) except floor/carpet which brings down the place quite a lot but nice interior overall with super neat and cool restrooms ( called the PumpRooms as per boat-like interior design ). My two orders of Table d'Hotes were 65$ for one and 60$ for the second one and none of the two reflected their price. This is the third year we have held our our company Christmas party at Terra Mare and it won't be our last. As usual the owners were great in accommodating our every request for specific menu items that we wanted for that special night. First, when you walk in, it's as if you go back in time about 30 years, old disgusting carpet, plastic fishes on the wall, horrible colors and decoration. This restaurant was highly recommended and as I had not been here for 20 years, it was time to go back, this time for a group luncheon. We were in a lovely spacious room in the back with 2 tv screens showing the Aquarium channel. The table setting was in a U where we could all see each other, twenty of us.The food was excellent! It's not the first time we go to Terra Mare and everytime we are not sorry; our latest visit was for our 25th wedding anniversary and we were a group of about 40 people. The private room at the back was perfect, the set menu was at a reasonnable price and the choices very well balanced. Everybody ate well and was very satisfied. The service was very professional and at the same time relaxed. I recommand it for any kind of occasions.The regular menu offers a good mix of seafodd, French and Italian cuisine and is in a normal price range for that kind of restaurant
Since we were just the 2 of us this Xmas eve we decided to go out for dinner !! We chose Terra Mare a long time favourite of ours and it was the perfect choice. Quiet and peaceful with great service and wonderful food. We both ordered poached lobster and it was cooked to perfection ...served with baked potato or rice. Had it with a nicely nicely chilled bottle of Sauvignon Blanc . We opted for speciality coffees instead of dessert and they were prepared at the table...always a nice touch. . Second time at this establishment for business meeting and they provided a welcome area and table to conduct business and enjoy the dinner.All had fresh fish selections and the sole almandine was done to perfection. We were just out of funeral service and sought a non-fast food lunch place. Landed at the right place???? Home-made food. Deeelicious. Even an entry salad, with well prepared house dressing. First class service. We were fortunate to stop at that place at that moment.
Always a good spot to go for fresh seafood and grilled meats. Friendly atmosphere and very good service.
