The bouillabaisse is a speciality that is from Marseille, the fishermen used to cook on the beach when they came back from their fishing trips. Not all the restaurantes know how to cook it, in Marseille, there are 3 famous restaurants Chez Fonfon, Chez Michel and the Miramar and in Golfe Juan there is Chez Tetou. I know this restaurant for the past 30 years and l was never disappointed with the quality, freshness and service . The menu is not very long you can choose a bouillabaisse with Crayfish at 130 Euros or without at 110 eur...
My review here is for the main dining room, not the small bistro outside that caters to folks using the beach at Tetou. It is very simple - the main event at Tetou is the bouillabaisse. There is of course a full service menu, but having been here many times over the years, you go to Tetou only for the bouillabaisse. And I must say I have never had better. A green (or mixed) salad and the bouillabaisse (plus a nice bottle of Rose) is all one needs to leave feeling full and satisfied. Beware that this is a cash-only establishment (no idea why in this day and time). Firstly, my mother should teach them to make a good bouillabaisse. Theirs is tasteless and boring. Their melon et parma is average compared to the one at La Colombe d'Or, which we had at lunch (so the same ingredients should have been available). Desserts were a bit better.Charging 100 - 150 euros per person just for the main meal is outrageous. Yes, it was enough food for 2 or 3 people, but they don't allow you to share - just waste the extra gluttony. For that price, they should bring some side dishes too, like some good greens.The view over the bay is lovely, but the restaurant decor and comfort is very lacking. It is a classic Cote d Azur dining experience on the beach, white lacquer walls, glass and bold navy stripes. With according to a friend who is a very famous LA restauranteur, hard to get in and the BEST bouillabaisse in the world. [it is!- and you will pay [in cash]. But definitely an elegant life experience. BUT after 100 years, the government wants the beach under this incredible place back. seems it will soon be raised...Don't miss it

Always love to come back to Tetou! Lovely place, professional staff, delicious food.The bouillabaisse is simply the best in the Côte d'Azur, It definitely lives up to your expectations. All the fish is great. Best to start with the Tomates Provençales and the Salade maison. The best thing of all is their Rouille, the best in the world! Love to spread it on French toast with a glass of white Ott Blanc de Blancs wine.
We've been coming to Tetou for over 20 years, it's the best on the coast for Boullabaise & all other fish dishes & the lobster is to die for, you must have the Provencal tomatoes to start.If you can manage it, the tarte au framboise is exceptional & must be shared it's so big. It's a one off & always busy, just perfect.
An expensive night out having got taxi from central Nice.It's cash only so be warned as our bill 450 euro for 2 courses and 1 bottle of wine.Very pleasant Service but bread and vegetables removed quickly for our starter.Food above average typical Fishermans food on old style.
