Despite living just outside of Fredericton, this was my first visit to the Abbey Cafe. My friend and I were meeting up for dinner one night and decided to go here. Such a great idea.We walked in to a quaint little room with tables and chairs along the sides and went to order our meal, grabbed our number and went to take a seat. Within no more than 15 minutes the food was hot and ready on our table. I ordered a roasted vegetable panini with salad (there was a choice between salad and soup). The panini was delicious! Lots of flavour. The salad was more of a coleslaw type with a light dressing but was also very good. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be back!
They did it again! The Abbey had a special that was a grilled sandwich with zucchini and cheese (and some other delicious ingredients). It was a perfect portion size and tasted amazing with a Dahl soup on the side. Their coffee cake lives up to the hype (if there wasn't hype about it, there is now). Aside from the food being awesome, you can step over to Red Rover for some delicious cider to go with your meal. Red Rover also sells some local craft beer. I had a stout. Watch out Ireland, New Brunswick is making stout and they're killing it!
We came here on our first night in Fredericton. It was nice to stretch our legs and walk around after a long drive from Boston. Inside the restaurant is inviting, we particularly liked the downstairs area filled with local art.We ended up getting takeout -- I had a great chickpea curry dish that I added chicken and my little one enjoyed a bean burrito. It was a great way to start our vacation!
I went here with a good friend for a light lunch. My friend had a salad, I settled for a strong coffee and a carrot muffin. Everything was delicious. A nice atmosphere. A better menu than Issac's Way, in fact, I would opt for this restaurant for this reason alone. The muffin was excellent. The Abbey is an interesting place, very welcoming. I was there with my daughter and my sister, it was my first visit so I had to read the menu a few times. The server was very friendly and helpful. I was a little wary of the dishes (some ingredients I'd never heard of) but ended up choosing a "hot bowl" which was very, very tasty. The prices are great, would definitely go again.
I've been here many times, for the food and the Cider. I usually have some type of bowl (I've had the Asian bowl, Taco Salad and the Raw Bowl (think)) All delicious! I am by no means a vegetarian or vegan but I love having options and this is a great one!
This place has excellent choices of healthy, vegetarian or vegan food!! Staff are friendly and you can enjoy local cider from Red Rover! Prices are great at around $9-$10 per plate.

This place is literally perfect. Best staff, best menu, best coffee, best cake. I'm obsessed and will 100% be visiting again next time I am in town.
