This was our first time visiting, I’d rung ahead to check the menu as it changes daily and my son is fussy. I spoke to the manager who kindly said that he’d hold a steak for my son which made things a lot easier. The menu was nicely varied everything we had was well cooked delicious. We were served a bottle of wine that was off, but that was instantly changed with apologies. Service was good the pub itself was really lovely inside, with a relaxed atmosphere, the garden had fabulous views. Will be going again!
We were a bit disappointed. There was a large private party going on in a separate room, but it was quite noisy and, despite having booked, there was only one table that was far enough away to be a bit quieter, next to the front door. The food was good burger highly recommended but our friends were less convinced by what they had. Staff seemed a bit frazzled, probably because of the party, which unfortunately affected the experience of good service.
We sat in the gardens top terrace and had a smashing Sunday lunch. Good kids menu. Dog friendly, just not in the restaurant which is fair enough. Nice ales on tap, well looked after. Friendly helpful staff, not too fussy. Looking forward to going back when I get the chance. Highly recommended
I think the food should reflect the price. I feel it is overpriced and if charging those prices a little more care needs to be taken with the food. I had 3 tiny pieces of cheese, small bowl of leaves and a few warm soggy chips.
We sat in the garden, and that was a lovely place to eat, with a view through trees to Otmoor. The food is pricey, but probably not very different from other similar pubs.
Great location on a summer evening in the garden looking out over Otmoor. Nice country pub with above average food but indifferent service and a little over priced.
Good food but children portions very small. Even paying for a double portion left my 12 tray old hungry. Steaks also pretty small. Location and service good
Second or third visit. Didn’t really enjoy the burger flavour? Dessert very good. Service very friendly and good Will come again
I thought it was very good. Table was fine, food is straightforward but very good, not pretentious, would recommend.
