on Saturday, the 2nd april, there is a lot of midwives in the barley mow. landlady colette gave us a massive group hug and told a customer that she didn't want to offend so that he should close his ears when she resold her own birth history. back to eat and atmosphere. there had to be around the tortes, there were the two veggie midwives enjoying a homitty pies, which essentially a potato leek and wobble pie. the third choice was the bark cake and the quartet was completed by a chicken cake. all filled with luxuriant ingredients and served with beautiful salad, mushy or garden broom, kartoffel or chips. this pub is very easy from the way, about a two-minute drive from the main road, but well worth the all-round. eating is very good and everything is made before place. look for live music events and the world hen racing championships. they also build their own microbrauerei, so expect great things there too. this quirky, independent, owners run, joy of finding a pub is within the beautiful peak district, but is a wonderful destination in its own right.
Phenomenal! Everyone was super personable, the welcome was brilliant and it just continued from there. A real family-feel pub. The food was insane, I had the steak Stilton pie and my partner had the steak ale pie and the portion was amazing and the pie and gravy were brilliant. I can see why this pub is rated 5/5 on here.. the best! Wish I lived around here so that I could come here more often!
unique interieur with iconic corners. black beauty corner. I loved it! booked for our Sunday roast, which was cooked by the renter colette nicely. she had given the cook free the week! the pub is loved by locals and it keeps regular events to call them. also contributes to the fun of the annual race. definitely recommend a call Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
a well-guided country pub from the beaten stretch, beautiful in summer and all seasons came to a party here the catering and eating was excellent for all of us was superb and the music we never stopped, **** fun and colette and their man extremely good publicans who are looking for customers there
Great little pub, really friendly landlord and land lady, food is so tasty especially pie night, I have been looking forward to pie night for ages and DEFINITELY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Also they do a fantastic roast dinner on a Sunday, super tasty
If you are ever near this unique quirky pub you must give it a try. Management, staff and customers (and the cat) are so friendly. The food is amazing. Our visit there today was the perfect end to a wonderful weekend. Thankyou all.
