I live in Brisbane and come to the Sunshine Coast most weekends to visit my parents. My mother is a regular at this coffee shop which is the only reason I go there. I have been several times and have always experienced unwelcoming, sour faced service. Today they really excelled in their sour faced service. I had a small dog on a lead with me, and stepped inside the coffee shop only to place my order and then walked back out. When I walked in, I was greeted with three sour faced women, was not acknowledge and I felt very awkward. I then asked nicely if I could order a coffee and felt like I had interrupted them. Worst service ever. The lady behind the counter should not be serving the public! We always stay on Golden Beach for our annual holiday and we thought we would take the kids to have breakfast on our last day. We should have walked out the moment the woman behind the counter said 'yes' (instead of 'can i help you) - clearly we were inconveniencing her by hoping to place an order for our family. The food was ok however that woman who served (no idea of her name) treated us like we didn't deserve to eat there.
The coffee is generally good. Nice big muffins. Love the apple and cinammon ones. Bit suspicious of the turnover of some of the food in the display cabinet, Quiches etc, so I avoid that now. Bacon and egg rolls are big but very greasy and rind on the bacon. Will stick to coffee and muffins. Service and staff seems to depend on who's there and how busy it is but could be much better. My arms stuck to the table surface while waiting for our food one day!!!
It's alright for what it is .. a casual open-air shack in a seaside area. It is located on a roundabout and close to the Golden Beach shops and nearby holiday apartments. While we were there cyclists left their bicycles "parked" in their garden area.Our breakfast tasted okay .. service was okay .. but it didn't have any "WOW" factor to make us want to return.

The woman who seved us seemed exasperated, unfriendly and uninterested. When our breakfast arrived the bacon was so hard it was inedible. The toast on both meals was cold and hard. My omelette was nice. When we drove past 15 minutes later our half eaten meals were still on the table. Very mediocre.
Although The Bean Shak is in a great location and has a very cute appearance, I must say, everything else is truly underwhelming. My beef burger contained a frozen patty which was dry and flatter than a pancake. Just a little love on the plate wouldn't go a stray.
Nice place to stop for coffee and maybe breakfast. Although we only had coffee and juice, other people's breakfasts looked good. Service was a bit slow as they were understaffed on Easter Monday. Still we had a pleasant half an hour there.
It was very busy when we walked in but the staff albeit busy were still very friendly and helpful. Great coffee and tried the banana bread - would recommend.

Delicious food. Fresh and well presented. All day breakfast was a treat and burger, salad and steak sandwich were delicious.
Second time here good spot great coffee good value Lunch's & meals staff are pleasant & happy will be back again for sure
