Dropped in here by chance after driving past a few times and heard good reviews. Seemed at first very popular and busy. On entering the bar there was a drawing local atmosphere and stares as if we had microwaves for heads. After asking for a table for 2 we were seated in the dining room. Small and cosy area we were then left.... with no menus, no drinks order places, and a waitress that blanked us while continuing to clear tables that were clearly still eating. Safe to say after 10 minutes of no service we gladly got up and left and will not be returning. Perfect for the locals and a great looking boozer but not ideal for a good meal and service.
We were excited to try out this restaurant, but unfortunately we were let down. We made a reservation for a Saturday night two weeks in advance, only to arrive and be told that there was a private event and they were not serving food. They offered us a free meal as an apology, so we rebooked for the following Saturday. However, we were informed the day before that our reservation was cancelled due to kitchen issues. We attempted to dine there a third time, but were told that the chef had left. This restaurant seems disorganized and unprofessional. I would recommend avoiding it and trying another place instead.
I really enjoyed the pub with its amazing views. We booked a table for a meal and were the only ones in the dining area. However, I was disappointed with the limited and poor menu choices and the fact that there were no prices listed. We had the fish and chips, which were average and clearly frozen. The salad was the highlight of the meal. After our food was served, we didn't see anyone else. It cost £14 each for mediocre food that could easily be served at a holiday camp. I won't be returning for food, but it's definitely worth going for a drink at this traditional English pub with stunning views.
We always enjoy our visits to this wonderful pub, and this time was no different. As soon as we walked through the door we were given a warm welcome. We ordered the roast beef Sunday lunch it was delicious. The beef was perfectly cooked and the potatoes in rosemary were a delight. It was also not overpriced the portions were extremely generous. A big thank you to the girls serving at the bar. They are a credit to the place they made us feel at ease straightaway. I really cannot rate this pub highly enough...needless to say, we will be returning very soon.

As a local in the area, this pub is one of the best. Friendly, affordable, amazing views, and fabulous atmosphere. For pubs it’s has been a tough and hard few years due to pandemic; and they put everything into making their customers experiences top notch! Live music is fantastic, and it’s great to see the staff enjoying themselves whilst making sure us as customers do the same!
The Sunday lunch at this restaurant was disappointing, especially considering the high price. The only options available were Beef or Chicken, and neither dish impressed. The food was not served hot, the beef was overcooked, and the carrots were undercooked. It's a shame because the location is lovely.
Stopped in for a baguette and a drink on a Saturday lunch. Good choice of fillings and hearty portions accompanied by the best chips I’ve had in ages! Staff were lovely and welcoming. Amazing view from the garden and fabulous outdoor fire cooking set up.I’ll be back
Probably the best pub I've been to, the staff are top notch and the food is absolutely beautiful. Great atmosphere and the ales are beautiful

Nice country pub, great pizzas Friday evening, band often playing too. Vastly improved since under new management, book if you wish to eat.
