We visited The Boot for dinner last night with friends and had the most amazing meal. We were shown to our table by a lovely waitress who waited patiently until we had decided on our order, and then she remembered it without writing it down! Between us we ordered the Pan Fried Mushroom and Stilton Bruschetta, Spiced Carrot and Chilli Sweet Potato Cakes for starters, and Confit Duck Leg, Chilli Ginger Miso Glazed Salmon on crispy noodles, Red Thai Fish Curry, and Zucchini Sweet Potato and Cashew Crumble for mains. Haven't been here for a while but very glad that we returned for a light lunch. The atmosphere was as we'd expect for a country pub friendly, warm and cosy with good local ale. They had just started offering their Christmas fare which I chose and wasn't disappointed. My wife had the Poke Bowl with bang bang chicken. Both were excellent. The staff were friendly and knowledgable of what they had on offer and all in all it was a very good value and relaxed lunchtime. Will certainly (in fact have already rebooked) visit again and would happily recommend.
Visited on the Sunday of the Jubilee weekend after long walk. Had the Sunday roast one with chicken, the other with lamb shank. Pint of local ale from Paradigm went down very well, and service overall was very good despite how packed the pub was. Will be another essential stop off on the next long walk...
Had a really good Sunday lunch with some friends. Everyone had a great plate of food and the staff were friendly and attentive. Beautiful old interior with a fire keeping us all toasty. Bonus points for the fuss made of our dog! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
George the new manger was very nice and extremely attentive. The food was good with a nice relaxed atmosphere. When I booked I said I’d be bringing my dog and there were dog biscuits on the table for him! Lovely touch.
Really nice third visit ,this time dining outside under cover.Food excellent as usual ,vegetables perfectly cooked ,and very attentive service from our waitress Imogen.Will be back.
Five of us enjoyed a pub lunch by the fire. Burgers, fish and chips, vegan curry and confit of duck. All excellent although the service was a little slow, the food was delicious.
All lunch dishes were served lukewarm and obviously not cooked to order but kept warm in kitchen. Very disappointed as this pub used to serve good, freshly-cooked food! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The Boot served main meals and puddings for our group of 28 walkers yesterday. Chloe and Willo looked after us brilliantly. The meals were lovely. Thank you.
