The night actually started well, the venue looks beautiful and the guys on the bar upstairs are great for a chat and very friendly, with some nice drinks, that's pretty much where it ended.Downstairs the service was disinterested at best and not afraid to show it, we are still waiting on those 2 cocktails we ordered at the start of the meal by the way. Great night out at The Butler, but not because of the food or service. Like others say, the atmosphere and building is fantastic! That's where it ended. The food was expensive and the service was strange - our waiter guy added his two cents to everything; pausing when I made a wine decision to tell me the bottle for $35 more was much better and not moving on until I made a stand and said about 5 times I wanted the cheaper one. It was really quite embarrassing in front of my friends. I would expect the $95 bottle to be better... How do you train your staff? From where did you recruit them? Who hired them? How do you cook your food? What's with the view? Why am I asking these questions? Because we were quite impressed with their excellent customer service!!! They were all friendly, professional & no rudeness AT ALL!!! DESPITE of them being so busy, the staff makes time to smile, chat, check & take photos of their customers! Lovely venue, intimate bar upstairs with cosy fire on a winters night. Genuinely surprised when we went to the restaurant as it opened up into a sophisticated two storey space with views and class. Busy but service okay to start with and food came out at the right pace as we chose the taps set menu. Stand out was kingfish and kale/slow cooked egg salad ...really! lamb came too much too late at the end, but happy to doggy bag it. Put candle in a cake for the birthday boy...then service evaporated. Numerous requests for drinks that didn't come, tardy in bill settling. Shame.

The Butler is a beautiful spot in Potts Point. The room is warm and very stylish and the bottom room where we dined has beautiful views of the city lights. It's a varied menu that is perfect for sharing. Our favourite dish was the Barramundi although we also enjoyed the chicken sliders and the corn dish. Service was good without being great and the whole place has a nice ambience.
We did not know of this place. It looked enticing enough from the street to lure us in for a drink, but it's when you delve deeper that The Butler becomes so surprising. It opens up to be a beautiful space with a stunning view of the city.We only had Sunday afternoon drinks, but the service was friendly and prompt, ultimately we left thinking - wow, that was a pleasant surprise!
Wow: after being recommended by a couple of people couldn't believe how bad this was! Everything was bland , overcooked and badly presented. The fries were great though. Service was pretty average and manager didn't realll care when we mentioned how unhappy we were. Such a shame!
Visited the Butler with 7 friends and we ordered the banquet which I would highly recommend! Every dish was delicious and there was plenty of food for the group. Cocktails & wine were also delicious. Great vibe and atmosphere. Would visit again for sure!

Loved the view, the atmosphere and the food was wonderful. The service was a bit slow and seemed confused because they kept trying to give us other people's orders but they were very friendly.
The venue, menu & wine list was 1st Class for a Special Luncheon with our Beautiful Laura. What a wonderful Afternoon ????????????❤️
