Weekend Break We recently spent 3 nights at the Canny Man, and was so happy we did, I’ve been to Edinburgh a few times though always stayed in town. Morningside is a vibrant suburb a short distance out of town, and the Canny Man is certainly one of its jewels, the Pub is an eclectic mix of curios, furniture and art which was a breath of fresh air compared to generic Pub interiors we’ve become accustomed too. The suites attached to the Pub are full of clean lines and quality furnishings and served as a luxurious sanctuary after a days trek around Edinburgh. Would not hesitate to visit here again! Keep up the Good Work
Best pub I’ve ever been to in the UK (and there were a few): • quaint atmospheric ambience; • top food, as tasteful as the music and decor (uniquely Edinburgh, but certainly much posher than most); • excellent service, waiters as friendly and authentic as the regulars frequenting this gem Want to enjoy a memorable meal in good company look no further, you won’t find any better. Definitely will invite my ould man for a treat here. AAA*
What a fantastic evening! We popped in for a drink, we had not been in before. The service was wonderful and the smell of the food was gorgeous, so we decided to stay for dinner, our first night out since having our baby. It was first class. We got wonderful and personable service, the food was fantastic, and it was just really a lovely, fun, warm, delicious, great night. I shall be recommending to everyone!
This was our second dinner date at the Canny Man's, and we very much enjoyed it. The smorrebrods are just lovely, as are the king prawns. I always enjoy a dram or two as well, and this time was surprised by the Glen Avon. Thank you so much for that. The interior of the pub is absolutely stunning with so many objects and pictures to discover. An absolute must! Have a happy New Year, and see you soon.

Had an excellent night, fully recommend this place! It was our last night in Edinburgh and we are so glad we came here. The food was excellent and the staff were really accomodating. I have a lot of allergies and they went out their way to make sure it was all ok. Loved the quirky decor, it was one of the reasons we chose to go and it did not disappoint!
amazing seafood to be ridiculously cheap trips, would recommend the muscheln. service was great. super friendly staff, not to mention the rustic atmosphere inside, so they feel as if they were in a 1800s tavern.
a wonderful place with great hospitality. our server, james was an amazing host. we had a group of 8 and we could make a reservation night. the food was absolutely delicious. quirky decor with a large vibe.
Staff were awesome. Many people late due to the bad weather and looked after us very well.
