Okay, so I dropped a 5 star, but would have liked a middle ground between the 4.At the end of the day I was really taken aback by how scrumptious the food was! I mean, I'm in small town Ontario eating the best Indian food I have ever had. Note, I come with a expense account that charges 6 meals out a week and gained 14lbs in 4 months when I made VP (have since lost that thank goodness), in other words, I eat out a lot and at really great restaurants and private clubs, so when I say this was great Indian food, it takes a bit to get me there. What a welcome addition to the Halton restaurant scene! We recently tried this new restaurant in Acton and were very pleased. We had a shrimp dish, a butter chicken, and a beef dish. All of our choices were not heavily nor hot spiced and they were all very good. The naan was fresh and the rice perfectly done to accompany our dishes. We enjoy Indian food and have missed the wonderful restaurant that was formerly on the Main Street in Georgetown. We will definitely return to the Clay Oven. It is very small so reservations are recommended and we observed a fairly busy "take out" business happening as well.
Since our first time eating at the Clay Oven the week it opened, we were hooked on the amazing Indian food here. My wife and I have eaten here about twice a month on average and have never been dissapointed. Food is the BEST.. we've tried Indian restaurants in many towns and none top the food here! Service is excellent, owners are friendly, food is great and prices are very good. The tannery is gone but the Clay Oven definetly make it "worth the drive to Acton". If you're in Acton or driving through.. make this your spot for lunch or dinner. You won't be dissapointed. A+++
Went for lunch with 2 girlfriends. There was a lunch special available. Your choice of 4 different types of meat/veg. mains served with rice, chick peas(in sauce) samosa, all for $11.99. Your drink was extra, and they are licenced, but we did not indulge. Great atmosphere, clean and good service. Take the time to visit. Hope they will be around for a long while. We've eaten at this restaurant 4 times now. The food is always great. They make each dish while you wait from fresh ingredients so it can take a bit of time to get your food sometimes - but it is always worth the wait. The decor is lovely too. You can also order over the phone and pick up a terrific dinner to eat at home.I highly recommend this restaurant.
We went to the clay oven to celebrate my birthday and had a great meal! My wife's gluten free and many food intolerances were no problem, the staff went out their way to help. Even my son who is quite fussy started with chicken and fries and ended up eating lots of curry. Worth a stop if you're in the area!
The best Indian food we had in a long long time, everything is freshly done. I had chicken tikka with a naan bread, it was succulent. My husband Paul enjoyed the lentil soup and chicken curry with peas rice it was the best. We are definitely going back. They also have a take out menu.
No need to go to the big city for great Indian food. Some service staff are very inattentive and decor is not high end, but the food is very good. If your main concern is getting great Indian food you can rest assured this place will satisfy. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
