My family and I went to this restaurant for a meal while staying nearby. Despite there being only two staff members working the bar and waiting tables, they were very professional and managed to keep a cool head, even with a party of 13 present. They were considerate enough to warn us to order soon so we wouldn't be delayed by the large group. The food, including curry for my wife and pizzas for myself and our boys (one meat feast and two pepperoni), was delicious and homemade. Even the pizza was clearly homemade and perfectly cooked. After a busy morning helping our daughter move house, we decided to stop at the Clifton for some food and drinks since we were in the area. I would give them more stars if possible, as it is a true gem. They have a large car park, lovely outdoor seating, and a warm and friendly welcome. It's a local pub where you are well taken care of. The food and drinks were excellent, with plenty of options to choose from. We both ordered from the light bites menu and were surprised by how much food we received - it felt like a full meal. Came here after being rejected at The ship for chef shortages. They food was absolutely amazing, some the best food I have had eating out. I got steak cooked mendium rae and it was grilled to perfection. Proper home done chunky chips too! My partner got a lamb roast dinner, fluffy roast potatoes and fresh tasting veg. His little girl got a child's margarita, really cheesy with plenty of tomato sauce base. Fresh out the pizza over, beautiful! Overall a great experience to say we wasn't suppose to eat here. This is the first time we have eaten in here. We didn't have a table booked but they were so accommodating. The service was second to none, fabulous food, great atmosphere and also fantastic prices. Five adults and a dog visited this restaurant on Easter Sunday. We started with black pudding and pepper sauce, pitta and dips, deep fried brie, and garlic bread with cheese - all were outstanding. For our main course, we had two chicken dinners, gammon and egg, lamb dinner, and moussaka. The food was delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant.
First visit here with my wife and brother. An early evening visit so not many diners but the welcome from the young man behind the bar was extremely welcoming. The food came hot , well presented and in good time. The orations were good , and the prices very reasonable. The IPA was also spot on !!
Food was good and very tasty. Like a lot of places a bit understaffed. There only seemed to be 2 people on the food side and were rushing around. We waited for a while but the meals were cooked fresh and not reheated which is always worth the wait. I would definitely go back
Had a lovely meal at the Clifton Warton this evening! Food was excellent and the service was fantastic. Would highly recommend for families too, our kids love the portion sizes and kids eat free when adults buy 2 courses!

Best pub around. Lovely atmosphere and the food is beautiful, especially the breaded prawn starter desserts. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. Would highly recommend!
