An instant classic and a fantastic home away from home, The Dog House Tavern is a familiar and comfortable spot that has remained unchanged since its opening in 1999. Under the management of Omario, this tavern has continued to offer a welcoming atmosphere to all who visit. Whether starting or ending your night here, you can be sure to feel at ease while enjoying a drink at the bar and chatting with the friendly staff. Every time I visit Houston, I make it a point to stop by The Dog House Tavern multiple times, and it never disappoints.
I stumbled upon this bar while exploring the area and was pleasantly surprised by the quick service from a friendly bartender. The three beers I tried were affordable compared to other bars I had been to, and the Guinness was especially good. This place could become my regular spot.
This restaurant feels like a second home. The staff is fast and welcoming, making you feel like a regular. The prices are always reasonable. There is plenty of seating for both individuals and large groups, as well as 2 pool tables and 2 dart boards. Don't hesitate, just go!
We ordered pizza from the restaurant next door and they delivered it to us in the bar. They were offering a special on Mexican beers that night, so my Dos Equis only cost €3 a bottle. Located next to the Curb Inn, The Dog Tavern is a bar that caters more to drinkers. While it may be a bit darker inside compared to the Curb, it has a more local atmosphere that we enjoyed. The staff were excellent and provided spot-on service.
