We booked for my family of four after a visit to the Spa earlier in the day, and overall it was like something from Fawlty Towers. When we arrived the staff seemed confused we were there, and then gave us a soup and salad menu. When queried, they brought us a lunch menu, but when we asked whether we could order from the menu online we were told the starts at 5pm. This makes sense in hindsight, as they will want a cheaper, easy menu for the golfers, but it should state this on the website, which seems to be an issue everyone had. One staff member directed us to a girl, who then led us back to the original guy and then walked us back down the room to eventually seat us. She hurriedly informed us about what was included in our spa package, but it felt quite rushed. Another staff member took our order, leading to further conversations about what would incur extra charges. When our food arrived, one item was missing, and the staff member simply reiterated that it would cost more—something we were already aware of. All we wanted was to enjoy our meal.
Finally, we received the bill, which was confusing given all the information we had heard throughout the experience. I really hope we just happened to visit on a bad day.
Disappointed in this restaurant last Saturday night. The food was great, but we needn't have dressed up as, rather than our expected fine dining experience, it was an experience of frantic service with waiting staff running with food to tables, and it resulted in us feeling our meal was the most rushed we've ever experienced. I understand the pressure of trying to feed the maximum number of diners before the ten pm shut off, but that was ridiculous. Felt more like a canteen than a classy restaurant. We won't be back.
Menu choice was poor,especially when on the deal. Food wasn't good, I didn't think you could go wrong with a burger and chips- I was wrong! Overpriced too. Some service staff were very flat. We were asked to move from our table after only 45 minutes, supposed to be 1hr 15mins! I heard others were asked too. It was just aswell we had decided against a dessert due to not enjoying both the starter and main. Also when asked for water, we never realised it would cost is £4.. wasn't given the choice to have free water.

We’ve been traveling in Scotland and Ireland for two weeks now and Vista had the best fish and chips of anywhere we’ve been. If you want to eat here I recommend having an early dinner. We went at 6pm before it became very busy. They do seem a bit short staffed so if you go any later than 7:00 plan to be waiting to order and get your food. The staff though is absolutely lovely and I can’t say enough nice things about them. I do believe they are doing the best they can with a smile the entire time.
We dined at the restaurant tonight and had a fantastic meal. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by David, who guided us to a table with a stunning view. The Cullen Skink soup was an excellent appetizer, followed by a delicious venison dish. Masha and Georgia provided attentive and friendly service throughout our meal. The drinks from David and Nathan were superb, featuring refreshing cocktails. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and absolutely worth the visit! Service: Dine-in.
Was disappointed to see guests at night time in the dining room wearing toweling robes. Not what you would expect when dining in a 4 star hotel. The ambience was good and the chicken dish was delicious although my husband’s steak was a bit tough. Swimming area was clean although there should by more supervision re the amount of people in the hot tub and hogging the heated loungers. Overall a Lovely stay.
Great service, good food, lovely setting and easy to find. We had lunch on a Sunday which turned into a concert, we didn't expect live music and although she was very good it was perhaps a bit loud for the occasion. Conversation became limited due to the music.
