We had a reservation for lunch, but when we arrived we were informed that the restaurant may not be serving food. While we were waiting for confirmation, the chef came out of the kitchen and said he would prepare the dishes for the tables that had already been seated, but no more would be served. The bar manager, Dave, arrived and I asked him if they were serving food. He confirmed that they were not. When I questioned why this had been happening frequently, he became defensive and mentioned that it was due to a gas issue. We visited the Earl Haig on a Saturday evening in December. We had reserved a table for nine people and preordered from the Festive Menu. We found our table to have been nicely decorated with festive ornaments and Christmas crackers etc. The roast turkey was particularly delicious and plentiful. All the meals were nicely presented. Our waiter was very efficient and pleasant. We didn’t have to wait in between courses. We were all well looked after. First visit pub was clean toilets clean, went as birthday meal we had to order at bar long wait for food to arrive only two waiters in whole pub serving several tables and only two people behind bar, there was a sign to say short of staff well why not get more staff in , starters hot when main meal arrived it was cold never complained as no one to complain to no one came to see if we were ok and enjoying our meal, had to ask for desert that was nice,not sure we will go again they need to up there game on service.never left a tip as no one bothered to give us the service we required and paid for shame really as could be a great place to eat as prices are good and menu was good.
I went to this restaurant on a Friday night with a friend for a drink. It was quite crowded, but after waiting near the bar for a short time, we were able to find a table. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is great. If you use the restaurant's app, the price of a bottle of prosecco is reduced. We also tried a delicious espresso martini. We didn't know there was a DJ playing, but it turned out to be a nice surprise. It had been many years since I had been to this restaurant, but I will definitely be coming back.

We had a lovely lunch today thank you, great food and welcoming staff as always. We would like to give a special mention to Katie (hope I have the correct spelling) who went that extra mile to check we had everything we needed and was friendly and made us feel at home. Merry Christmas to you all.
a very nice roast with generous sweethearts. remember to order all appetizers and desserts at the same time if they want to use the advantages of the discount. I forgot, but the friendly and helpful manager opened our food order and added on dessert for my son. highly recommended. come back.
The Earl Haig isa real gem of a pub. Great food in the heart of the community with lots of drink choices including great cocktails. Friendly staff and reasonable prices, it's an Ember Inn. All accessible with a radar key toilet and disabled marked parking on site.
Nice place for sure, friendly service too. Would I go again? Yes, for a drink and try something else in the menu. Would I have a Sunday roast again? No, the veg was microwaved and was like rubber, meat was nice, spuds were ok
