Must be a special kind of family they had in mind when they named this hotel: one whose members love to play the pokies, have a bet at the TAB and, naturally, have a few schooners at the bar. It is basically a suburban beer barn featuring a large public bar, an even larger betting area/TAB (as big as I have seen in a pub in a pub), a few pool tables, and a couple of lounges full of poker machines. These are the most luxuriously appointed part of the pub - and clever use of 'outdoors' design means you can smoke in one of them. And the kiddies aren't forgotten as there are a couple of those amusement machines with grappling arms, occasionally dispensing soft toys or chocolate bars. So, if you...
Had dinner here last week..Ordered a gourmet prawn pizza and potato wedges...The pizza had a slight smell to it and tasted bland...The staff were rude and totally ignored my friend when she asked if they had salt for the wedges..The tables were sticky in the eating area, out side in the beer garden and in the main drinking area in the pub..Carpets could do with a shampoo and fix the dip in the floor that has been there for 20 years..I nearly toppled over..It's old and tired.
Standard bistro fare, pricing ok but quality and presentation nothing to write home about.Bar service staff are poorly trained and apathetic. Inside seating is comfy, but the place has zero ambience and is not at all inviting.Beer garden is small and poorly thought out with two or three large picnic style tables, which prevents the are being useful for couples or smaller groups.Definitely a boozers pub and not 'family' friendly.
Gave this place a run as i love ribs and with a family on a budgethad the ribs soft tender ribs meat falling off the bone with perfect chips hot and crunchy and fluffy in the inside the ribs could have had a little less sauce but still very good desert was a pannacotta very nice atmosphere well its a pub with a bistro overall its good place to go if you are a local and dont want to cook for the night will be back again

I've eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed... The staff (bistro) are lovely and friendly and their food is cooked to perfection! I've been to some much fancier (and more expensive) restaurants and walked away less culinary satisfied than eating here...A must!
The food at this pub like venue is really great. Never disappointed with meals. The venue from the outside isn't great but once in the taste of the food always brings you back for more. Prices are very reasonable. They even do take away.
been meaning to try this place out for a while .... friends had said it ok. ... finally got there on the 1 july 2017 ... NOTE the actual corner building is closed for referb ... we got caught out and discovered the operating pub...More
Have been a few times. Food always good and nice clean environment. We have a 1st day back at work pilgrimage at the start of each year. My workmates always enjoy it as well. The bistro has changed management and have not been yet.

The Family Hotel is our 'local' pub. Being new to the area we thought we would give the bistro a try. It was disappointing. I don't recommend it.
Quality is growing judging by the amount of patrons. Getting better and better as they grow. My goto place!
