This pub is welcoming and very p,easant. The service is good as is the food but it is quite pricey. When I booked I asked for a quiet table in the corner not near a party but we were next to a table with some very loud and unruly children whose parents were on another table. This should not have been allowed. However after we had been there about half an hour they finally left. They had been running around and shouting. I did say to a member of staff that it should not have been allowed but she did not seem able to do anything about it. A great pity.
We arrived to be told our booking through fork hadn’t been registered and they had no knowledge of it. We shared email confirmation etc and they did go out of their way to accommodated us, but we’re advised they were operating a limited menu which was meant no starters, just Sunday roast, we we’re hungry so opted for the roast, the service staff were good but the food was disappointing, hard roast potatoes, dry chicken and over cooked veg, shame as we were looking g forward to trying the food after the reverb, won’t be rising back.
The restaurant was very crowded on a Friday evening, making it quite noisy. It may be fine for young people, but older individuals could have difficulty holding a conversation. I have visited the restaurant during the day before and had no issues with noise. The food was not exceptional; my linguini dish only had four small prawns and four tiny pieces of crab, with a lot of pasta. However, the rest of my group generally enjoyed their meals.
Service slow. Had to ask for drinks then we waited and waited, in the end end had to ask where were our drinks, when drinks were eventually delivered, we asked to place our dinner orders to be taken. They were not busy, although they were serving outside. We were quite disappointed by our visit this time. We were earlier as we kept getting messages not to be late ?? Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The place is lovely . It’s just a shame the food and staff don’t live up to the restaurant. Both the fish dishes (sea bass and salmon) were over cooked and dry. The pork belly had very little meat on it. The waiter dropped beer on my partner and spilt water all over the table. He also leaned over us all to clear rather than go around us. Very disappointing.
Wasn 't very excited by the menu as quite pricey for lunchtime and quite 'Dinner ' type offerings. But my duck salad was really tasty and Eton mess v good. However we were sat next to a table of smokers outside which was really unpleasant. Either have no smoking outside or a non smoking area as it would put me off going back
I visited this restaurant on a Tuesday night, hoping for a quiet evening. The ambience was very nice, the location was great, there was no loud music, the service from the staff was excellent, and the quality of the fish was very good. I plan on returning soon as I have heard that their Sunday roast is also excellent.
my family and I had a pleasant time in the inn. the food was excellent, with the workers who are on our needs. more than happy to come back and try another menu. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Great food and portion size , lovely staff , no pressure to order or leave the table at a certain time . Really good
