Let me start by saying i haven't had chips and potato cakes this good in a very very long time unfortunately the battered whiting was disappointing. More bones and fish scales than flesh. I guess it was lucky I got that piece instead of the kids or it may have resulted in a trip to the hospital to get a fish bone removed. Once again a great place to eat just check the fish for bones.
I always ring first and order in advance. It is always ready and waiting, and they remember names, a bonus. Their fish n chips are fresh, and in my experience use fresh oil all the time. Prices I think average, not cheap but competitive nevertheless.The staff are well mannered and reasonably friendly for such a busy shop. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
Flakery is a Patto staple, it recently changed hands and the new owners are doing very well keeping the same specials and quality of food. They do a decent shiva and the scallops and prawns are always fresh. Very happy with their takeaways.

This is the best fish and chip shop in the area. Very clean and very friendly. Food is always cooked well and thw burgers are great. Definitely the beat in the area.
I can really recommend everything they offer. The chips are big, fresh and crunchy - just right. The fish is always fresh, cooked just right and never oily.
Had lunch from here today. Fish was really good. Had the rockling. Tasted fresh and very well cooked. Potato cakes were hard and dry. Salad was ok.
