My wife and I visited the Frank Hornby for a meal and a drink today. It has been a while since we last visited. What a transformation. We used to recommend this pub to friends but not anymore. Just give you the bullet points. To enter or leave the pub you have to walk through people standing at the front door, smoking ….. right next to 2 No smoking signs. Pub was quite empty. A group of 4 men were sitting eating and drinking. You would think they were sitting at 4 different tables as far away as possible from each other. They spoke at extremely high volume and every 3rd word was F . Children were sat close by.! My wife is disabled and went to use the toilet for the disabled……. The toilet loo...
Usual Wetherspoons, so knew what to expect regarding the food, with reasonable prices and a range of choices. This is in a decent location, easily accessible with plenty of parking, but wasn't too busy, even on a Sunday afternoon. We used the app to order and didn't have to wait very long for our food (had main meals and desserts). We really liked the decoration, including the train track pattern on the table, Meccano display and especially the mirror with the cars on the frame!
I stopped by this restaurant for breakfast while my wife was at the doctor's office, not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. I ordered the breakfast muffin with unlimited cappuccinos for under five pounds. It felt like a steal. The eggs were freshly scrambled and the muffin was soft and delicious. What really stood out was my server Tracy, who was not only attractive but efficient. I could have stayed and chatted with her all day.
We have been here many times over the years but today was not a good experience. It was very busy, we didnt mind, ordered on app, drinks came quick and then food, very small portions, burger looked like a childs burger and we counted the chips, 12!!! No check back from staff, offer of sauces etc, staff didnt seem to care, girls hair was down, not good when serving food, dirty plates left on tables and unhelpful staff, very disappointed Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The food was extremely bad, the staff's attitude was awful, and the venue was dirty. The chef didn't seem to care that our food was cold and our orders were wrong. The overall attitude was unpleasant. I miss the days when you could eat at a respectable Wetherspoons without encountering staff with a bad attitude when addressing issues. It's disappointing to see the lack of respect for customers who contribute to their wages.
This is the worst breakfast I have ever paid for. I have had many cooked breakfasts in my life, but this one was particularly disappointing. The service was fast, but that should have been a warning sign. The food was classic cold canteen food - and I mean cold. None of the items on the plate were held at a temperature of 63 degrees or above, as required by food hygiene regulations. Eat at your own risk.
Drinks came out quickly, however I a was waiting for over a half an hour for my food (12 onion rings) while my friends are eating their food (2 burgers and a pizza). I wouldn’t mind if it was really busy, but it wasn’t. How long does it take to heat up some onion rings? I’ve also seen people who ordered after us get their onion rings before me which is ridiculous.
Ordered food here the other day and it was vile. Dirty plates and cutlery everywhere, food was soggy and like warm at best. Drink came with lipstick on the glass (what bar staff serves drinks in a dirty glass) Eeeeeeeeeeee don't go to this place!!! It's vile. Decent scran for what you pay to be fair. Go often had the halloumi wrap with chips and spicy chicken wings on the side, pint of carling too. Also had the chocolate fudge brownie which is decent all for around £16. Like I said the price you pay you can’t really complain
