If I could give this place ZERO STARS I would. Ordered takeaway at 6pm for Father 's Day dinner. I expected a bit of a wait. Several calls made before we got the food at 9.30pm!!!! 9.30!!!! We had an update by text saying 'food was delivered '...errr....nope...so rang restaurant... it 's on its way they said...but still hadn 't arrived an hour later. Rang restaurant again... driver messed up . What? He 'd soiled himself? Taken the blue pill instead of the red? What do you mean???? Food arrived but Chicken Tikka Makhanwalla was very tomato based not beige, creamy or cheesy and the Chicken Tikka Masala tasted and looked exactly the same. Same dish??? I was greeted by Chloe, a very nice lady, and then Naz came over, who was also really nice and friendly. I had a lovely meal tonight with prawn cocktail, mixed kebab, poppadoms, and chutney for starters, and chicken tikka jalfrezzi with pilau rice and lamb curry with pilau rice for mains. The food was delicious and I enjoyed every bite. The portion sizes were generous, and I even had to take some of my jalfrezzi home because the meal was so big. I love going to the Gate of India as it is local, has welcoming staff, a lovely atmosphere, great food, and is very good value for money. I definitely recommend it.
This restaurant is a hidden gem with amazing food and excellent service! We dined in for dinner and the price per person was between £20-£30. The food was delicious, receiving a rating of 5, while the service was also top-notch with a rating of 5. The atmosphere was great, receiving a rating of 4. I highly recommend trying the Chicken Tikka Masala. For vegetarians, I highly recommend this restaurant as well.
We waited for 2 hours and 20 minutes for our meal and we are still waiting. The restaurant's delivery service is a joke. This was for dinner and the price per person is £20-30.
