This place was such a good find! My friend and I go away at this time of the year to explore various gardens and we picked to stay here as it was close to Wells. Having stayed in Wells once before, I remembered that the parking wasn't very easy so we decided to stay a short distance outside. Our hosts, Peter and Veryan, were the best I have ever come across in an establishment of this sort. They and their staff were so personable and did everything they could to make our stay so comfortable. Veryan was the breakfast chef and everything was cooked fresh to order and Olly was the restaurant chef. His guinea fowl risotto we had one night was out of this world (and we were keen to tell him so)....
Great traditional old style Inn where we had B&B and well located for local attractions. Owner very friendly and attic room spacious with comfortable bed. I'm six foot and had to be a bit careful with wooden beams but worth it but anybody over six foot might want to consider other rooms. Had evening meal on busy Curry Night which seems to be a bit of an event for the locals. At first it all seemed very chaotic with us not knowing where to go in the restaurant or how to order. We feared the worst with the food but it was completely the opposite! The service was great and the food excellent with the main menu, a couple of specials as well as the curry available! My partner and I had dinner at this restaurant last night, and I am so glad we did. This place is a must-visit, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Janey and her partner are fantastic hosts, very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, we enjoyed steak, soup, camembert, and the children's menu. The Irish coffees were also excellent. The chef deserves all the compliments! The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and cozy, with just the right amount of ambience. It feels like you're in a scene from The Holiday. This restaurant is not to be missed, we will definitely be returning!
Had a great two night stay here very friendly helpful hosts Breakfasts lunch an evening meal all lovely Comfy bed pillows nice en-suite plenty of room with ample storage The pub itself has a brilliant atmosphere friendly locals Croscombe itself is a lovely village great location for the City of Wells We are looking forward to staying again soon
I've visited this restaurant a few times before, but I stopped by today and had the pleasure of meeting the managers, Janey and Charlie. I have a fondness for free houses, and I tried a pale ale from Wookey Brewing Co called LUNNA Super Natural. I felt very welcomed during my visit.
A lovely, friendly and welcoming pub. We had dinner here on Friday night and the food was delicious, very tasty and plentiful. The service was excellent and the fantastic range of draft ciders was very good indeed. Would definitely recommend a visit
Decent food and lovely staff! Very welcoming pub and only a short walk from our campsite. Great selection of beer and cider, which staff allowed a small taste of to ensure the right pick.
This charming pub is nestled in a picturesque village. The staff was courteous and accommodating. The food was delightful, fresh, and flavorful. I would definitely recommend this place.
Friendly welcome when we arrived. Nice selection of tasty food and you could see them cooking in the kitchen. Would recommend to family and friends. Hope to return soon.
