I really enjoy this pub; it’s a true gem in the area. Right now, I’d give it 4 stars, mainly because the security measures could use some improvement. I’m not sure if we’ve found a table that truly suits our needs, as the group changed while we were there. There were about five people, and I found it difficult to maintain social distancing. The restrooms were quite busy as well, which indicates a need for a person limit. On a positive note, the app for ordering and the table service were effective, and there’s a spacious outdoor area to enjoy.
We visited on Sunday, September 6th, and enjoyed the Sunday roast. The portion was so generous that I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it, but I did! We had both lamb and beef, and they were both delicious—with the best fried potatoes I've had in a while.
I highly recommend The George. Along with its outstanding customer service, the restaurant is situated in a beautiful historical building that adds to its charm.
Absolutely the worst pub on the island, went on Wednesday and still thinking about the horrendous service now. Ending up leaving half-way through my cider as I couldn't stand the way myself and other customers were being spoken to by the guy behind the bar Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
My time at the George Inn was thoroughly unpleasant, the Landlord was needlessly RUDE and confrontational, and judging from previous reviews for this establishment I can see that I am not the first to suffer this individual. Do not recommend. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

First day in London my friend and I passed by this pub. We went inside for a beer, and fish and chips. Also met a dog named Rascal who seemed to have a run of the place. Perfect first day. Great pub. Can’t beat the combo of great beer, good food, nice people, and a dog.
We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating my daughter's school results with friends and family at this lovely restaurant. They prioritize creating a safe environment for enjoying drinks, and the location is beautiful. Plus, it's dog-friendly, which is a great bonus!
A traditional pub that provide a decent Sunday roast at a reasonable price. Good location as 2 minutes walk from bus station. They do seem to close some days and food is not served every day arm. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
really nice pub. nice place to sit during the summer as it closed by all traffic. a star lacked, however, because the waiters are not so friendly and rushed me pretty fast.
