We have visited this neighborhood restaurant multiple times and have always had a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is consistently good. However, we have noticed that the menu has remained unchanged during our recent visits, even with a few months in between. During our last visit, we heard another group comment that the menu was still the same. We believe that some menu updates would be beneficial in attracting repeat customers, and we offer this feedback in a constructive manner.
My wife and I visited with a group of friends last weekend for the first time here for a number of years but unfortunately the experience was not as good as I recall it. Starting with a positive the ambience is excellent which our friends from Spain really appreciated. The menu and food was average pub grub standard. The service was lacking professionalism, they left us a wine menu but never bothered to take our order until the meal was virtually over and they were not familiar with the items on the menu.
Our last visit in March was disappointing, but we decided to give the restaurant another chance for Sunday lunch. To our surprise, they did not offer a traditional Sunday roast, which was unexpected for a supposedly traditional English pub/restaurant. We were told there were technical issues in the kitchen, but a limited menu was available. Two weeks later, we tried again with the same result. Despite our disappointment, we may give it another try in the future to see if things have improved.
We have been trying to frequent this establishment several times. However they seem to be closed most of the time. Our last visit resulted in several menu items being unavailable as were certain real ales. Our reason for our visit. Very limited and unimaginative menu, resulting food was poor. Staff clearly wanted to leave and close early; did not feel welcome at all... For some reason the toilet was the warmest place, but flooded with water (Hopefully) everywhere. Sadly could not recommend..

Although I’ve lived in the area for nearly 30 years this was my first visit to the George Inn. It had a homely, friendly feel. Loved the beams in the restaurant. Parking was easy. Service was friendly and good. There was a reasonable choice of dishes on the menu. Food was well presented and portion sizes were good. It was a relaxing evening. I’d definitely come back again!
I agree with other reviews that a variation in the menu would be beneficial. I had the salmon about three months ago and it was delicious. However, I was disappointed with today's dish. The salmon was poached and undercooked, with a small fillet, a few potatoes, and a small serving of spinach, all for just under £19. Overall, it was an underwhelming and overpriced lunch.
Visited for Mothers Day lunch. Very disappointed with the choice of menu, no white meat or vegetarian option for roast dinner. Overpriced at £35.00 for a two course meal. Service very slow and waitress rude at times. Won’t be returning.
Excellent food, great value for money and friendly staff, what more could you want? The portion sizes are large and the menu catered for a wide variety of tastes.

Lovely Food. Menu too good. Impossible to decide what to have as so many favourites on offer. Beautiful countryside setting and staff couldn't be more helpful x
They ignored my request for a lactose free sandwich and buttered the bread. No apology no refund offered.
