My wife and I decided to give this place a try. It was a snowy blustery night in Canmore. The restaurant was warm and welcoming as were the staff. The restaurant was busy and I knew this was a good sign. We were greeted and seated promptly even though we were early. We started with cocktails. I had the cherry mojito which was flavorful. It is sweet so not for everyone. My wife had a type of tea. I forgot the name but she enjoyed it very much. We ordered the spareribs and the pork schnitzel plus an Asian salad to share along with our meal. The food arrived quickly. First let me say that I eat with my eyes first. Staying at the resort so we thought on our first night we’d try out the restaurant. I am so glad we did! Our server Terence was great! He was so welcoming and friendly! We ordered the spicy garlic wings and two burgers because it was burger night. The wings came out piping hot and they had just the right amount of spice. I had ordered the crab cake burger and my spouse ordered the classic burger. He orders his burgers plain and it ended up coming out with sauce so we told our server and he did not hesitate to make it right! Within 10 minutes he had a brand new fresh burger. A refreshing surprise! I can't remember the last time I had good service and food at a restaurant. Our server Peter was thoughtful and highly attentive. He took the kids order first without us having to ask. All of our food came out hot and quick. We were asked if we wanted refills on our drinks through out the night, Peter didn't miss a beat. The food is not what you expect from a hotel restaurant, unique twists on some familiar items. Pizza was a hit with a fantastic crust. My son is a very picky eater and this was the first time he asked to try the food from all of our plates.
This restaurant was very “okay”. Nothing special, nothing game changing, nothing particularly bad. Great if you’re staying at the hotel, very convenient, but not worth any amount of driving I would say. The films of Andrei Tarkovsky always strive to find a deep sense of meaning both of the world and how we, as humans, connect to it and each other. I did not feel any more connected to the world after eating here, but it does set me on a course to continue my search. For that, I am thankful.
We are staying at the Grande Rockies Resort by Bellstar. Came down and were quickly seated. Chelsea was our server and she was most friendly and efficient. She had us setup with water and was making red wine recommendations. I ordered the pork schnitzel and potatoes and my wife ordered the quinoa wheat berry salad. Both arrived before we knew it and were filling delicious. Thanks to the staff for a most pleasant dinner experience.
We are staying at an Airbnb in this hotel and decided to stop by the restaurant downstairs for lunch after a hike to Eiffel Lake (around 10km and 800+ calories burned). The salads are so refreshing. Just what we needed to recharge. Our server was very friendly and accommodating despite how busy they were. Had a leisurely time with tea. Highly recommend.
Had a nice dinner at this restaurant. Staff were great, welcoming and attentive. Ordered the salmon burger, a salmon fillet with smoked salmon. Very tasty, but quite messy to eat as a burger, would have worked better without the bun. French fries were great, too addictive! Would come here again
It was OK. Perhaps what I ordered wasn’t the best (root beer BBQ ribs). My stomach is not feeling the best afterwards. Other family members liked their salad- fresh and light.My kids did enjoy their chicken tenders though.
Fantastic start to me my husbands' anniversary week! Top notch food for reasonable prices : Pictured: Pulled Pork Poutine, Spicy Boar Meatball Pasta, and a French Crepe. 10/10, would dine again
