Wouldn 't recommend staying here overnight unless you absolutely can 't find anything else. It 's old, dated and needs attention. Very basic room and bathroom could 've been cleaner, heating not working. The mattress has springs that were so loud when you simply turned over. The food in the pub was okay and the barmaid was great, however the landlady is very rude and I 'm not sure if she actually wants anyone in her pub. Just one example We rang up to book a room, she says come after 12 because that 's when they 're open. We turned up at 12:30 to which we were met with check in is at 2pm . This restaurant has the rudest landlady I have ever encountered. I have visited three times in the past year, and each time the licensee has been unwelcoming and disrespectful. It seems that unless you are a local resident of Sambourne, you are treated as a second-class citizen. I have traveled all over the world and have never experienced such rude behavior from a landlord. On a positive note, the food at this restaurant is actually very good. Hopefully, a new landlord from the owners, Punch Taverns Ltd, will take over soon. I have spoken to several interested parties and hope that in the near future, this venue will once again be open to all customers without discrimination.
The Green Dragon is the most unwelcoming pub I have ever been to. My wife and I walked in around 2:40 PM, not realizing that the place closed at 2:30 PM. We were greeted with a blunt "What do you want?" and charged £4.60 for a pint. Just five minutes later, we were told they were closing in five minutes, so we had to quickly finish our drinks. We will not be returning anytime soon.

Peter the Landlord is a lovely man and makes you very welcome. Noteworthy details: Very peaceful setting , great for country walks and not very far from Stratford upon Avon and Warwick for tourists to visit , also close to the Cotswolds. Service: 4 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Quiet
