Deciding on a cocktail was quite the challenge since they all sounded so appealing. For my main dish, I chose the grilled pork tenderloin. Though the chef recommends it be served medium rare, I personally prefer my pork well done. Admittedly, well-done meat can often be drier, but it wasn't noticeable thanks to the spiced apple compote that accompanied it. This dish also came with mashed sweet potatoes and sautéed green beans, which filled me with nostalgia for my home in Virginia. We had an early dinner at Guest House on Friday evening. When we called for a last-minute reservation, they informed us that the kitchen was short-staffed, but they could seat us immediately since it was early. We decided to go since it’s conveniently located near our home, and I wanted to avoid traffic. We were seated right away, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Our drinks were served promptly. I love the guest house. I used to be regular, just after the opening. I was so glad when they offered to take out and that they made it through the pandemic, but the dings in my life changed and that was the first time that I gedified there in years, and it was great. there was a new staff, but there were also familiar faces. there were some new menu items, some old favorites and some updates of old favorites. the prices have not changed and the pieces are still great and all that our group has ordered was as good as I remembered (high! it is still a wonderful neighboring restaurant. What a nice, relaxing restaurant. The constant evolving small menu makes it interesting and the food drinks are tasty. Friendly and attentive staff. The owner(s) take time to chat with the guests. Loved the whole experience . We had the pizza Lamb meatloaf sandwich. Pizza crust was thin and slightly chewy (in a good way) the bread to the sandwich was made of I believe the pizza dough? Very yummy. Owner mentioned they make their own dough/bread. Dessert was superb. And for someone who doesn’t usually drink alcohol, I finished the whole glass of their “Basil Haven”
I chose to go here with my hiking partner after walking around St Edwards Park for a couple hours. The service was absolutely pleasant and the food was top notch!
