After I rated this place 1 star they replied and asked me to email them details about my experience. I did as they requested but they never replied so I am posting what I sent in the email here. We visited the River Edge, NJ location on December 30th. I ordered online and went inside when they said the food would be ready. The cashier told me my order (1 patty melt, 1 burger and an order of onion rings) would be ready in a few minutes. Fifteen minutes later I was still waiting. The burgers were ready and sitting there for most of this time. Apparently, the order of onion rings was holding things up. Eventually, an order of onion rings was brought out but the employee packing the orders said...
On my first visit to The Habit, I was craving a burger, but I've recently decided to cut back on bread. So, I searched for places where I could get a salad wrap, and this spot was at the top of the list. The interior is beautifully decorated, with plenty of space, and the signs are bright and easy to read the menu. You can even see into the kitchen from where you sit. I ordered a BBQ Bacon Burger along with Fried Green Beans instead of fries. The burger was fantastic, and the salad was wrapped with actual salad pieces rather than just a single leaf like at some other places. The greens were fresh, and the spicy sauce that accompanied them elevated the dish from a solid 6 or 7 to a perfect 10...
I went to the restaurant with a friend and ordered two burgers. For some reason, each burger was served at different times. I specifically requested that both burgers be brought out together since we wanted to eat them at the same time. One burger arrived, and I had to wait for the second one. When I told the staff that the burger on the counter was getting cold, they simply threw it in the garbage and informed me that two new burgers would be out soon—no apology or explanation given. This is the second time that they leave ingredients from salad as if people do not notice. I have the Santa Barbara Cobb salad and there was no blue cheese or bacon crumbs. I mean, it was a chip of egg and tomatoes with a small doll avocado and a thin sliced dried chicken breast. The quality has gone down and she? re tried to trick you out of ingredients. It's a decent burger. Is it the best I've had nope. But is it edible and good enough to hit the spot yes. Presentation could be better.
I received the wrong order and found hair in my food. I ended up throwing it away, which felt like a waste of $17.
Amazing burger joint. Always a hit with every visit! Filling for a reasonable and fair price. Love this place!
