Disappointing visit to The Horseshoe Inm this evening, we visited last year and the food and service was phenomenal but this evening it was far below expectation.We ordered a Medium Rare Sirloin which arrived at the table closer to Medium Well. The Pork Belly was dry on the underneath and very chewy but this pales in comparison to the lacklustre service.There was no check back after we ordered our main meals. No one thought to take our glasses and cups away or even offer us another drink, not only that but after we had finished our mains and ask for a pudding menu we waited over 20 mins and after becoming agitated we ended up asking for the bill and leaving before even seeing the menu.As som...
we managed to meet every traffic light from newhaven to sir harry lauder road while we traveled south the horse hoe inn. I can't stand the delay of others, especially when it comes to eating, so I was a bit embarrassing to call and to advise our unfortunate delay. the horse hoe inn is an inconceivable restaurant with rooms that are 17 km from the city center of edinburgh, right outside of peebles (eddleston to be exact.) scottish food review has never given five stars on zomato to a restaurant. we have always capped the partitur by four and a half, the decision that there is no possibility, a perfect five. we have always checked restaurants on a similar basic so that the best Burger restaurant in the world (dennistoun bbq can be very points, while a decided average Michelin starred experience (no, not there! would be less points. So they have to wonder how on earth the horses can reach the inaccessible?
Good food, large portions, well served in pleasant surroundings. I have been there twice, both times there were special offers but on both occasions, they have not been available. Loved the food and it was nice and cosy. Service wasn’t amazing but I think that was down to how busy they were and new/few staff on however when we were being served they were lovely.
blogging has helped us to discover some wonderful hidden gems in edinburgh, we are looking for long and hard for them, but sometimes we are happy enough for the hidden gems to find us.
service was very slow eating had swirling in him when I asked, no good checked whether the food was good or whether it was ok, I was upset with him
