Stayed for a few nights! Rooms are very luxurious! Everything you need from iron to hairdryer. Mini fridge which has alcohol, water and soft drinks. Breakfasts are perfect with amazing service. Evening meals were out of this world!! 5* Food, drinks and service! Good portion sizes! We didn't have the best weather but if you go and it's warm there is an outdoor kitchen so Food and drinks can be cooked and made outside. Very nice quiet village, didn't really explore it to much but no noise in the evenings at all! Absolutely shameful management of this establishment. They treat their serving staff extremely poorly. Disgusting comments about where they live, how they talk, even dress (outside work) dismissing a young lady because she is pregnant and it doesn't suit their image, and then having the audacity to not even tell her, but telling her work colleagues instead. Cowards. Discussing current employees in a derogatory manner with potential employees during interviewing. Very unprofessional. I will be telling everyone I know exactly how this establishment is run and to not bother wasting their money to line the pockets of these cowards. Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 1
I was really looking forward to my stay here, but unfortunately after an awful experience, I cannot recommend The Houblon Arms for female travelers. The staff here have made it clear that unless you are white or accompanied by a male chaperone, you deserve to be harassed during your stay. The peaceful serenity of the English countryside was completely ruined by my experience staying at this hotel. Sadly I cannot recommend it to solo female travelers — please be advised to stay somewhere else.
This was a work stay as it is 15 minutes from RAF Cranwell. The experience was classy and extremely professional. The room was outstanding, as was the private hottub. Fabulous place , especially for a romantic stay. Gorgeous rooms, everything was immaculately presented. Only wish we could have stayed longer.
