My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time with great food, a brilliant atmosphere and wonderful staff. There was a large selection of drinks available but we went safe with a lovely bottle of red and started with soufflé and belly pork. I don't typically write reviews, but I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant last weekend that I felt compelled to share. The food was incredibly delicious, but what really stood out was the exceptional service we received from our waitress, Claire. She went above and beyond to make sure my 90-year-old grandfather felt comfortable and happy, chatting with him and making sure all of his needs were met. This kind of personalized and attentive service is rare to find, especially in restaurants we frequent often. I hope Claire receives this feedback directly – she truly made our dining experience special.
Fabulous food and menu Only draw back was that I can't eat cream so I couldn't have a few things on the menu such as mashed potato. I was offered something else but I love mashed potato. We asked one of the staff what beers there were and she didn't know. Minor irritations. The chef worked at Champignon Savage in Cheltenham which was a 2 star. We have eaten there and the presentation, diversity was very similar. Perfect. Loved the skate in red thai sauce with crispy pickled vegetables. Wish I could have had it as a main. Have already booked again.
Exceptionally good food at a very reasonable price. I’m no expert, but I (and my wife) felt that the standard of cooking here was outstanding. Soufflé, as a savoury starter or as a desert (we had both between us) was fantastic. My venison main was knock out good and my wife’s gurnard main was apparently superb. Pork belly starter for me also deserves a mention too, it was absolutely lovely. The service is pretty good too. A very nice, well run restaurant with outstanding fud!

We ate here at the weekend for dinner. The staff and food were fantastic. Lots of drinks choices (I was sadly driving so couldn't partake! . The lady who served us was very polite, friendly and professional so big thanks. Our meals were just amazing, the dark chocolate gateaux was stunning. We will definitely be back, it would be a special occasion for us but I can assure you we will be back. Absolutely recommend to everyone looking for a great evening with fantastic food.
From start to finish absolutely superb. Greeted with a warm welcome and seated immediately. Drinks arrived quickly. Extremely knowledgeable waitress who clearly explained the specials with great detail. Food, service, wine and drinks above and beyond. It is a little pricey but …. In life you tend to get what you pay for here it is clearly more than worth it. You need to book well in advance, which pretty much tells you all you need to know.
I've visited this restaurant regularly over the past few years and never reviewed it. Its consistently faultless. Menu choice is always interesting, food is perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, service is attentive but not intrusive and ambience is spot on. Will definitely be back!
The Sunday lunch was enjoyable, but the prices at the bar were a bit steep. While the menu included Roast Beef and Lamb options, I was surprised to see a £3 surcharge added to the Roast Beef for Sunday lunch.
