Better service with a packed house. The Keg has always been a go to date night spot for my fiancé and I. The Thai chicken is to die for and my fiancé loves the prime rib. Tonight was the first bad experience we've had with The Keg. Our server was great to start with when the lounge was packed right full, very attentive and always asking if we needed another drink. The second the lounge cleared out our service was terrible. My Thai chicken for the first time ever was so over cooked and dry, meanwhile our server stood right behind our table chatting with friends at the bar about her latest diet fails for over 20 mins while we sat with empty drinks and empty plates except for the lone dry chick...
Great, but underwhelming.. My parents are the Kegs number one fans and it's always been their plan to take us to dinner when we finally turned 19. So for 19 years I've listened to my parents rave about this place and don't get me wrong it was great, I was just expecting a little more.My parents both ordered a lobster dish, one chicken and one steak,the lobster was phenomenal. I myself ordered the Blue Cheese Filet, a filet mignon with a blue cheese crust finished with roasted garlic cloves (mixed veggies on the side). Went for supper on the patio Saturday evening and surprisingly it wasn't at all busy!Had a few beverages and appys prior to ordering dinner. We had the Bacon wrapped Scallops which were good but I prefer them with garlic butter instead of seafood sauce. Also had the baked Brie with pesto and red pepper jelly.For the main course I ordered the prime rib sliders which were delicious, the onion fries were pretty pathetic though, more like crumbs..lolThe GF ordered the surf'n turf 6oz sirloin and lobster tail which she said was cooked perfectly med. rare.We really enjoyed our meal and will return!Service was great too!
I always enjoy coming to the keg just because the food is always good and what I expect it to be. The price and portion sizes are an issue but that's what you have to accept if you are going to this restaurant. A favourite of mine is the teriyaki steak and that has always been good and cooked perfectly to my preference. The service is always good and it has always been an enjoyable experience.
Ended up going to the Keg tonight for supper. Busy on a Friday night so we sat in the lounge. Had the prime rib with a side of grilled veg, the prime rib came out perfect medium rare. Great flavour especially with the horseradish. Which is by far the best on the city, clears the sinuses in seconds. Thanks to Ashley, for the great service.
Went with another couple for supper and enjoyed a very nice experience. The service was above average, the steaks were quite good as were the seafood dishes I'm told. Overall, a really nice meal. Only small sticking point is the cost.
One of the best. I went there last December, I had the T-bone steak, we took also an appetizer. Excellent food quality, top service (deserved the $25 tip) and I will be there again. All of my friends been there were delighted.
My family and I eat at this Keg on average 3 times a month , the service is the best in the city hands down, and the food is always excellent , no restaurant in Saskatoon does a better job than this Keg does .
Excellent choice for our get together. The Keg has the best steak in town. The service was second to none. It was busy and noisy but still very comfortable.
