This is our 2nd visit as a family and it’s our new favourite place. We will make the 20 minute journey regularly as it’s way better than anything else close to us. Excellent food at very reasonable prices and the staff are simply amazing, so professional, friendly and helpful. The owners clearly value customer service and know how to run a restaurant properly. Drinks are also fairly priced and when the sun shines, they have a lovely beer garden. Clean, good food, fairly priced and great service. What more could you want?
Amazing service and food. I came here for lunch with my friend and her little boy on Bank holiday Monday, we hadn’t booked in advance but we were given the warmest welcome. We were given a kids activity pack which was brilliant and Holly explained all of the specials when seating us. Food came out fast which tasted fresh and delicious. Desserts were amazing too, really good portion sizes. Overall a lovely experience and will definitely be returning. Thanks Holly and team, keep doing what you’re doing! x
I took my Mum out for lunch, we were looking for somewhere in Newton and initially went to a pub on the High St but were ignored by the manager/owner so.we went to the Kirkfield. Given a warm welcome by Ella and the service continued to.be excellent throughout. Ella had finished her shift before Mum and I left but she is a credit to the hotel. We had lovely food and the premises is nicely decorated, very clean and toilets immaculate.and lovely smell as well! Will return.
Disappointed with the breakfast. Used to be really good. £9 for full English with drink included. Now it’s been increased by 33% to £12, which I found quite excessive. However, the main reason for the poor rating is that the coffee I ordered was pretty much hot milk. Couldn’t drink it, and you now only get 1 round of toast instead of 2. Shame really as I liked popping in here for a breakfast after the school run.

Came for dinner, nice surroundings but honestly will not go back. Poor value, food uninspiring. manager sits watching everyone, very unfriendly man! Loud gang getting drunker and drunker at the bar, not a nice dining experience! Manager did not care. I have looked at previous reviews and note that responses are very defensive and the customer is always wrong! I won’t be checking for a reply
Very disappointed. The Kirkfield has gone so downhill lately. I went in with my family on Easter Saturday for a few drinks. The beer was flat and over priced. But what was more annoying was the large group of young lads all taking turns to take drugs in the toilets. I witnessed 2 of them myself. Sort it out Terence, that’s why so many locals avoid the hotel now, which is disappointing.
Called on spec for lunch with wife and eldest grandson after a walk through the park.No problem in getting a table. Hadn't been here for a while,but pleased to say it was as good as ever....lovely food,reasonable prices,and great service from Bernie and the lovely young man behind the bar. Highly recommended to anyone thinking of eating out in Newton.
Poor customer service both me the woman next to me was waiting at the bar but was ignored as two lots of clearly regulars that the bar staff knew and was talking about being in their previous day, if you don't wanna serve me I'll take me money elsewhere.

First visit, family celebration. Lovely food and great atmosphere. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. It was extremely busy but they were very attentive. Would definitely visit again.
