Been visiting here for 13 years absolutely LOVED FOOD and STAFF. Past few years new landlady in charge. Poor service! Food not as good. Paid for roast dinner never arrived landlady accused me of not paying. Turns out I did pay, apology was in form of a drink poor customer connection. she needs to understand her attitude reflects upon her staff and affects her staff morale and her customer service. Used to be a fabulous pub, would not recommend unless leadership changes. Such a shame because great music, and wonderful outside dining.
We stopped off here on our way up to the Lakes so that we could catch up with a friend who lived nearby. Pub could certainly do with a little TLC but the staff were friendly enough. We had the cheese and potato pie, steak and ale pie and scampi. All came with overcooked tasteless veg and mediocre chips. Pie crusts were soggy from being microwaved and generally very poor value for money. Shame that the pub appears to be stuck 30 years in the past. We'll meet elsewhere next time if eating.
We have had many Sunday roasts at the Oak Tree in the past And they were delicious, but we were sadly left disappointed this time. Although the meat was good, the roast potatoes were awful, 2 tiny roasts on the plate and they were hard and just tasteless. Nothing like a proper roasty!! Good selection of veg on the plate but this all tasted so bland. The good point was the staff were lovely ! Shame about the dinner !
First impresssion is that the furnishings could do with an upgrade carpets and chairs looking very worn. Next upset was the charge of £5.60 for a double shot cappucino i.e.two full coffees charged. One of our friends wanted a starter and dessert from the 2 course lunch menu but was told that wasn't possible she'd have to choose from the a la carte menu the dessert she wanted wasn't available on this menu !

We stopped by this pub last Saturday night while passing through town and were drawn in by the lively music and atmosphere. Upon entering, we were greeted with warm smiles from the bar and floor staff. Despite being busy, the staff remained friendly and attentive to customers. The entertainment was fantastic, and my husband and I will definitely be returning again in the future!
Pre ordered a Xmas meal as a treat for family member. Service of the staff was outstanding extremely welcoming and friendly. We booked a three course Xmas dinner, the food arrived piping hot, everything was cooked to perfection, plenty of turkey, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire pudding, roast mash potatoes and lots of different types of veg. Many thanks to the chef and staff.
We visited as a family of four at lunch time. There is a really good lunchtime offer which we all had. The food was lovely all cooked fresh and piping hot. The best thing was the lovely friendly service and nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back soon.
I stopped by this restaurant for lunch while passing through Newton-Le-Willows. The food was good and affordably priced. The service was adequate, but the establishment itself appears to be a bit run-down and could use some maintenance.

I met some friends at this restaurant for an early dinner. The food was incredible and served promptly by friendly staff. I couldn't find any faults with it.
Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection great service Great prices and great hosts highly recommend
