"Beautiful grounds to visit and have a walk in a beautiful day. The Chartwell House is full of history and memories. The art studio is also great to view Churchill's paintings. There is a nice shop and cafe to end your day. I would just say try to buy the tickets in advance."

Wonderful staff and a beautiful piece of history. We started the day with a bit of an issue as we could not get our membership card to load. There is no/little cell service in the area. Only poor reception in the car park and better once you get inside. The staff were very nice and we were able to enjoy the place and show our membership cards on our exit after they loaded. The house was very well done. Good tidbits of history and legacy. It was sort of like a museum and a preservation site which was nice to have. You could spend hours reading and looking at every detail. Or not. Your choice. Small disappointment we didn't get to see his bath and room, but oh well. The gardens were upkept ver...

Winston Churchill's home, studio, and stunningly extended gardens are a must-visit for people of all ages and abilities, including your furry friends. The area features accessible hiking trails, a play area for children, engaging historical information for enthusiasts, and beautiful gardens for nature lovers to explore. I recommend purchasing house tickets in advance to avoid disappointment during busy periods. If possible, don't miss the studio talk, a mini-tour that offers fascinating insights into Churchill's passion for painting. While parking is limited, it's manageable on summer weekends. There's a café with both indoor and outdoor seating, and adjacent to it, you'll find a lovely Nati...

Visited mid-late afternoon in Easter holidays weekday. Car park was about 2/3 full. Parking costs £4 for non-members and is free for NT members (scan mamebership card at machine). Recommend booking a time slot in advance. Buy tickets or check-in at the information centre (between car park and house). Entrance fee is £20 per adult for non-members and free for members. You are given a map of the house and grounds. Allow 2-3 hours to walk round the house and the grounds. No face mask required, encouraged or advised in April 2022. Free-to-use toilets, cafe and second-hand book shop are also on-site. Limited mobile phone signal in the area.

Churchill lived at this house for over 40 years and used it as his family home. There was much happiness here. The house is a mixture of displays as the house one was and information boards telling the fascinating story of Winston's life. The house tour lasts for well over an hour and the extensive gardens just call out to be explored. An audio tour guide of the garden can be picked up at reception. There is a large gift shop and cafe on site. One of the Trusts jewels and well worth a visit. 3 hours can easily slip by here.

on the website of the national trust the place looks deceptively small, but it is actually a large house and the grounds are massiw! perfect for a day. the dinning room is my favorite! it has an incredible outlook. Note: when we went, the men's certain times were given to enter the house. I am not sure whether it is a COVID measure or not. this can be slightly annoying because we arrived at 2 o'clock and our entry time to the house was at 15:50 o'clock, which is quite long to wait when they only go to the house.

This restaurant offers a charming and romantic atmosphere. Churchill originally purchased it for his wife, Clementine, and it has remained a beloved family home ever since. He had a separate studio unit, filled with his own paintings. Visiting the garden at the right time to see the bluebells is truly special. The grounds are adorned with small dikes, showcasing his impressive masonry skills. The little playhouse he built for his children is still intact. I absolutely loved the entire place.

I've been looking forward to visiting this place for a long time, and I finally made it on Friday. I was not disappointed! The stunning grounds and beautiful home of Winston Churchill and his family were truly impressive. I particularly enjoyed the gallery filled with many of Winston's paintings. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone!
